Eleanor Louise Stanton, 89, devoted wife and mother, passed away Aug. 18, 2010, in Columbia.
Mrs. Stanton was born in Webster, N.Y., and was the eldest daughter of Charles and Wilhelmina Semmler. She was a homemaker, living in New York State, Florida and Lewisburg, before moving to Morning Pointe Assisted Living Center of Columbia.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Donald E. Stanton.
She is survived by her daughter, Ellen (John) Kooman of Lewisburg; two granddaughters, Lisa (Kenny) Hayes of Seymour, Tenn. and Leslie (Hassan) Fawaz of Knoxville; four great-granddaughters; and two sisters, Arlene Yantz of New York and Leona Beach of Connecticut.
No services for Mrs. Stanton are scheduled at this time. Williams Funeral Home in Columbia is assisting the family with arrangements.
