The 2020 Class A-AA Wrestling Championship is on February 21 and 22 at the Williamson County Expo Center in Franklin.

Forrest senior Jesmarie Negron wrestled her way to a second consecutive appearance in the state tournament with a fourth-place finish at the West Region Tournament last weekend at Nolensville.
The 2020 Class A-AA Wrestling Championship is on February 21 and 22 at the Williamson County Expo Center in Franklin.
Negron, who lost both of her matches last year at the state tournament, gutted her way back to the championship mats, wrestling seven matches in two days at Nolensville.
Negron started with consecutive falls in her first two matches before losing an overtime tiebreaker 3-2 to Savanah Barefield from Rossview.
Negron continued to dig in, winning two matches in a row with falls over Millie D`Angelo (Independence) and Emma Stewart (Clarksville) before clinching a spot in the state tournament via a 4-3 overtime thriller over Tullahoma’s Kaleigh Royal.
Alanna Coker took third place and Negron fourth as the Forrest senior got pinned by the Coffee County sophomore in her final match of the tournament.
The boys compete in the West Region Tournament on February 14 and 15 at East Ridge High School in Chattanooga.
