Nannie Belle Jones Orr, 100, of Lewisburg, died Sunday morning, June 16, 2013, in Franklin.
Mrs. Orr was born in Bedford County and was a daughter of the late Harvey Ransom and Annie Maude Hoover Jones. She was a homemaker and retired after many years as a nurse in the Marshall County area. Mrs. Orr was a member of 7th Avenue United Methodist Church of Lewisburg.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Thomas Orr, who died in 1960, and by a son, James H. "Jimmy" Orr.
Mrs. Orr is survived by a daughter, Nancy (Donald) Wood of Franklin; son, Charles W. (Sandy) Orr of Oxford, Ala.; adopted son, Phillip (Faye) Simmons of Mt. Juliet; sister, Katherine "Kat" Holton of Chapel Hill; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, June 18, from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Chatman officiating. Burial followed in Cedar Grove Cemetery near Chapel Hill.
Lawrence Funeral Home and Cremation Services was in charge of arrangements.
