Maxine Bentle Petty, 95, of Lewisburg, died Saturday morning, Aug. 3, 2019, at Marshall Medical Center.
She was a native of Westmoreland, TN and moved to Lewisburg, in 1934, and has called Village Manor home for the last 7 years. She was the daughter of the late R.W. and Annie McDole Bentle. She was a Marshall County school teacher for 42 years and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lewisburg.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Roy Petty in 2013; daughter, Joan Petty Hicks; son-in-law, Jim Hicks; and one sister, Imogene Bentle.
She is survived by one daughter, Janet Petty (Eddie) Wiles of Lewisburg; five grandchildren, Jamie (Brandie) Hicks, Jennifer (David) Cope, Jana (Brad) Hobbs, Erin (Rick) Whetsel, and Rob (Katie) Wiles; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, Aug. 5, 2019, at 2 p.m. from the chapel of London Funeral Home with burial to follow in Lone Oak Cemetery.
Visitation with the family will begin on Monday, Aug. 5, 2019, from noon until the funeral hour.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Marshall County Retired Teachers and First Baptist Church Building Fund.
London Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
