Mavis Arthell Finley, 85, passed away on Friday, Oct. 19, 2018, at NHC Oakwood, Lewisburg TN. She was born in Boaz, AL, Feb. 9, 1933, to the late Willard and late Iris Phillips.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a daughter, Anita Shelton; four brothers, Al Phillips, Wayne Phillips, Jerry Phillips and Bobby Phillips; a sister, Shirley Fraser. She is survived by her husband, Leslie Finley, Lewisburg, TN; two sons, Michael Childers and John Childers both of Huntsville, AL; a step daughter, Ledare Finley, Knoxville, TN; two step-sons, Gary Finley, Lewisburg, TN, and Charles Finley of NC; a brother, Billy Phillips of Michigan; two grandchildren, Lindsey Jester and John Shelton both of Flintville, TN.

Visitation with the family was Sunday, Oct. 21, 2018, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and again Monday, Oct. 22, 2018, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. The funeral service immediately followed the visitation on Monday at 11 a.m. with Reverend Leland Carden officiating. Interment took place in Short Cemetery.
