Martha Dolen Haislip Smith, 86, of Fayetteville, died Sunday, Aug. 8, 2010, at Donalson Care Center.
Mrs. Smith was a native of Lincoln County. She was the daughter of the late Willie Austin and Josie Brewer Haislip, a homemaker, and a member of the Washington Street Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Wayne Smith; brothers, Samuel, Morgan and Madison Haislip; and sisters, Hassel Clark, Laurine McKinney, Catherine Beddingfield, and Myrtice Haislip.
She is survived by her daughters, Sherrie Tomerlin of Fayetteville, Patsy (Jim) Walker of Elora, and Nancy (Brent) Patrick of Shelbyville; sons, Gary Austin (June) Smith, Jeffry Wayne (Jill) Smith, and Anthony Lee (Terri) Smith, all of Fayetteville; sister, Peggy Mitchell of Fayetteville; 10 grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, Aug. 10, at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Jim Black officiating, followed by burial in Wrights Cemetery beside her husband, who died in 1997.
Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the Washington Street Church of Christ.
