The FMS Lady Rockets tipped-off the 2013 basketball season on Friday, taking to the hardwood at E.O. Coffman in Lawrenceburg against the host Lady Panthers, who won the season opener 34-16.
Forrest looked a little rusty in their first game, shooting a measly 22 percent from the field in an 8-36 effort.
The Lady Rockets were also shutout at the free throw line and three-point land, going 0-3 from the charity stripe and 0-7 from downtown.

Harmon in front
Katey Harmon led the way in the scoring column for FMS, putting up 10 points, while Caitlin McKenzie netted four points, and Jordan Yelensky converted one field goal.
Kylie Rosson led all scorers in the contest with 16 points for E.O. Coffman, while Riley Brazier was also in double figures with 10 points for the Lady Panthers.
Toshea Kilburn added four points, Macy Black netted two points, and Heather Hollman and Kenzie Doss had one marker apiece for the Lawrence County squad.
Yelensky scored off the opening tip for Forrest before Doss hit one of two from the free throw line for E. O. Coffman.
In the lead
Brazier came up with a bucket to put the Lady Panthers in front 3-2 before McKenzie scored to make it 4-3.
Emma Stacey stole the rock from the hosts and Harmon made them pay for their error, driving to the goal for a basket, making it 6-3 Lady Rockets.
One free throw by Hollman made it a two-point game.
E.O. Coffman would end the first quarter, scoring five straight points to take an 8-6 lead after the first six minutes of action.
Rosson started period number two with a bucket in the paint for Coffman before McKenzie converted in the paint after grabbing a nice pass from Madison Curtis.
Chill is on
FMS would not score again the first half as they went cold from the field, but the Lady Panthers continued to surge, opening up a 10point lead at the half, 18-8.
Harmon opened up the second half with a drive to the hoop, but Rosson came up with five straight points to put Coffman up 23-10.
After a timeout by FMS with 2:31 remaining in the first half, the Lady Rockets made a comeback attempt on two baskets by Harmon and a bucket in the lane by McKenzie, cutting the Coffman lead to 24-16.
Brazier ended the Forrest spurt with a buzzer beater to end the third quarter with FMS trailing 28-16.
The Lady Rockets went into an artic freeze in the final six minutes, going 0-10 from the field, while Coffman scored eight points to take the 18-point win.
