Joann Warlick went peacefully to be with her Lord Thursday, June 25, 2020, at home surrounded by the love of her family at the age of 89.

McCracken/Warlick and James D. Warlick. She was blessed with twelve grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren and twelve great-great-grandchildren.

Joann spent her life serving the Lord and lead by example. She played piano and sang in church choirs, was proud to be a Sunday school teacher for the youth, and spent time doing missionary work in South Africa in the mid 90’s.

Joann had the honor of being among the first women to work at the Pentagon, and eventually retired from the I.R.S. where she received awards for her service.

After retirement, Joann continued to serve her community by participating in an after school program as a mentor and teacher to inner city children at the Ark in Flint, MI.

Joann has been a resident of Marshall County Tennessee since 2005 where she was a member of Grace Church and later the Refuge Church in Chapel Hill.

There will be a Celebration of Life in her honor on July 21, 2020, at the Refuge Church at 5 p.m. in Chapel Hill.

She is proceeded in death by both parents Luin and Agnes, as well as her step-mother, Lula Hickerson; brother Jack Hickerson; step-brother Tuffy Cuff; step-sister Ruth Payne; son, Thomas; and daughter,, Loletta. She is survived by daughter, Joy D. (James) Savage, along with her son, James D. (Gayla) Warlick.
