Jessie Alfred Hastings, 98, of Petersburg, died Monday, Jan. 18, 2021, at his residence.

He was a native of Lincoln County, the son of the late Johnny Hastings and Eula Roberts Hastings. He was employed with Lewisburg Hospital in maintenance until his retirement and a member of the Cane Creek Church of Christ.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 75 years in 2019, Dorothy Evelyn Hastings and a great-grandson, Matthew Cody Rice.

He is survived by a daughter, Peggy Jean Sharpe of Cookeville; three grandchildren, Pamela Sharpe of Lynnville, TN, Kim Rice of Lewisburg, TN, Jeff (Stacey) Sharpe of Lewisburg, TN; six great-grandchildren, Hillary (Will) Erwin, Kacey Rice, Koley (Michael) Borah, Kristin (Evan) Watson, Curt (Amala) Taylor, Ben Taylor; and four great-great-grandchildren, Lola Borah, Ryder Watson, Atlee Borah and Annalynn Taylor.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, Jan. 24, 2021, at 3 p.m. from the chapel of London Funeral Home, 324 West Church Street, Lewisburg, TN 37091 with burial to follow in Old Orchard Cemetery.

Visitation with the family will begin Sunday, Jan. 24, 2021, from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. Visitors are asked to wear mask and social distance.

London Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the family with the arrangements.
