James Berry Dark, age 75 of Lewisburg, died Monday, September 12, 2016 at his residence.
Mr. Dark was a native of Marshall County, Tennessee, the son of the late Charlie and Mary Eva Dark. He served his country in the U.S. Navy and was retired from International Comfort Products. He was a member of the Marshall County VFW Post 5109 where he served as Commander for a number of years. He was instrumental in placing monuments at the Marshall County Court House yard naming the Marshall County Veterans that have made the supreme sacrifice defending our country and freedom. He was a member of the Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Cora Dark and brother, Ray Dark.
He is survived by his daughter, Darlene (Chris) Byrd of Chapel Hill; three grandchildren, Kristina, Kelsy, and Kistopher Byrd; partner, Montez Riner of Lewisburg and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at 11 a.m. from the chapel of London Funeral Home with burial to follow in Lone Oak Cemetery.
The family was at London Funeral Home Tuesday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. for visitation.
London Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
