To the editor:

I'd like to respond to the Letter to the Editor in Oct. 14th's paper. I would like to say that I agree with everything Mrs. Reese had to say. I would also like to add that I am the sister of Brenda Beatty, who was a prime candidate for the Clerk and Master position. She has served in that office for 25 years, I have seen her put blood, sweat and tears into that office. She is a woman who loves her job and didn't mind getting up every morning to go to her job, which most of us cannot say about ourselves. I was appalled in last week's paper to read that they were "waiting on a suitable candidate to be named." My sister was and is a suitable candidate, has never called any other town her home, she is a resident of Marshall County and knows that position backward and forward. The politics in Marshall County are embarrassing to me as a resident and I'm ashamed of how things are done around here. I also am a taxpayer and a voter and you can bet your paycheck I will remember the ones who slapped my sister in the face when re-election time comes.
