Garland Cooper Johnson, 83, of Lynnville, died Saturday, May 25, 2013, in Vanderbilt Medical Center.

Mr. Johnson was a native of Giles County, and son of the late Ernest Jasper and Jenny Alabama Hardison Johnson. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a carpenter and a member of the Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean Osborne Johnson, in March of 2013, and by a brother, Jasper Johnson.

He is survived by nieces and nephews.

Graveside services were conducted Thursday, May 30, in Mars Hill Cemetery.

Cornersville Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
