After being washed off their home course at Henry Horton because of heavy rain on Monday, the Forrest golf squad traveled to Rockvale on Tuesday and was swept away by some good golf turned in by host Eagleville and Cascade.

Cascade took first place in both boys' and girls' action, coming away with a wide 19-stroke win for the Wartrace boys, while the Lady Champions edged Eagleville by one stroke and were two better than the Lady Rockets.

Cascade

Tanner Burks led the way for Cascade, firing a 2-over-par 38 on the front nine at the 6,472-yard Champions Run layout.

Chad Gordon carded a 40 for the Champions, while Jack North came home in 43 strokes, and Tyler Holt rounded out the top four scores used in the 165 aggregate total.

Chandler Morrison shot 46 and Drew Taylor signed for a 47 for Cascade.

Eagleville

Eagleville's four-man total of 174 was good enough for second place as Dakota Beech matched Burks' low day nine-hole score of 38.

Ransom McRee shot 41 for the Eagles, Torey Fusco penciled in 46 strokes on his scorecard, and Matthew Boyett shot a 49 to round out the host's top four.

Tommy Clary carded a 53 and Jeffery Tracy shot 59 for Eagleville.

Rockets

Gary Lukonen was low man for the Rockets, shooting a 4-over-par round of 40, while Hawken King shot a 47, Robert Garcia added 52 strokes to the Forrest total of 193, and Tim Elliot was the fourth-best Rocket with a 54.

Dayton Ward and Jarvis Lyttle came to the clubhouse with identical 55s for Forrest.

Girls

On the girls side, Cascade barely won a back-and-forth match by a single stroke as Anna Spenst and Allison Massey both traversed the Champions Run layout in 52 swings of the club for a two-girl total of 104.

Lex Lane shot a 58 for Cascade from the 5,442-yard women's red tees.

Eagleville took second place in the match as Kenya Hackney carded a 49, Jessie Pew shot 56, and Taylor Turnage added 58 strokes for the Lady Eagles.

Lady Rockets

The Lady Rockets came close, but could not pull off the win as Dani Hoeft and Caitlin Burt both shot a 53, with Hoeft coming up with a nifty birdie on the always-tough par-3 third hole.

Micah Toombs was also in action for Forrest and carded a 64 on her first look at the Champions Run layout.
