Florence Maxwell Wheeler

Florence Maxwell Wheeler, 84, of Lewisburg, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2013, in The Place at Martinez, Augusta, Ga.

She was born in Rutherford County, the daughter of William Lake and Mattie Hayes Maxwell. She was a homemaker and member of the Belfast Union Presbyterian Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Norris Wheeler II; two brothers, W. L. Maxwell Jr. and Homer Maxwell; and two sisters, Flora Maxwell Haynes and Julia Maxwell Fisher.

She is survived by her son, William "Bill" Norris Wheeler III and daughter-in-law Trilla of Augusta, Ga.; four grandchildren, Meredith Wheeler of Augusta, Nicole Wheeler Lynn and husband Austin of Atlanta, Julie Herold Hennessy and husband Kendrick of Atlanta; grandson, Jason Herold and wife Erika of Augusta; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Bob Maxwell of Murfreesboro; and two sisters, Evelyn Writesman and Anna Middleton, both of Nashville.

Funeral services were conducted by her nephew, Reverend Bobby Maxwell, and Reverend John Horn on Saturday, July 20, from the chapel of London Funeral Home, followed by burial in Round Hill Cemetery in Belfast.

London Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
