Ernest C. Henegar, 79, retired banker and former resident of Lewisburg, departed this life on June 3, 2020, at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville. Kind and gentle, he had a ready smile and a generous heart. His joyous sense of humor and his loving spirit were recognized by all who met him. His many friends and loved ones will miss him dearly and his memory will be ever cherished...

Ernest C. Henegar, 79, retired banker and former resident of Lewisburg, departed this life on June 3, 2020, at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville. Kind and gentle, he had a ready smile and a generous heart. His joyous sense of humor and his loving spirit were recognized by all who met him. His many friends and loved ones will miss him dearly and his memory will be ever cherished.

The family will visit with friends on Monday, June 29, 2020, from 4 until 6 p.m. at Bills-McGaugh & Hamilton Funeral Home. Due to the current pandemic, masks and social distancing are encouraged.

A private family memorial service will be held with Reverend Robert Montgomery officiating. Mr. Henegar’s service may be viewed online at www.billsmcgaugh.com, starting Wednesday, July 1.

Preceded in death by his parents and his daughters, Karen Amber Henegar and Mary Henegar, he is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 58 years, Nancy Henegar; devoted daughters and sons-in-law, Lydia and Greg Spencer of Millington, TN and Rachel and Nathan Hasty of Bartlett, TN; granddaughters, Lily and Annie Spencer and Caroline Hasty; brother, Joe Wheeler Henegar; and Marsha Sharp of Shelbyville, TN.
