SAVANNAH — On a night when nothing could get going, the Marshall County Tigers saw their season come to a close with a disappointing 28-0 loss at unbeaten Hardin County.
After battling through the Region 5-4A gauntlet that included matchups against state powers Tullahoma and Pearl Cohn, The Tigers also took a tough one on the chin against Montgomery Central and had to settle for fourth-place in the region.
That fourth-place region finish set the Tigers on the collision course with a buzzsaw in Hardin County.
Led by Mr. Football finalist Kaydin Pope, the Hardin County Tigers were able to execute their offense, while styling the Marshall County squad to end the Tigers’ season.
Hardin County scored its first touchdown of the night on a 7-yard run with 2:33 left in the first quarter, then added a pair of touchdowns through the air in the second frame of 12 and 76 yards.
The hosts added one final score mid-way through the fourth quarter on a 1-yard run with 8:42 to go in regulation.
Marshall County closes the regular season with a 7-4 overall record.
