Mr. Eddie Whitefield, 82, of the Farmington community of Marshall County, died Friday evening, Sept. 10, 2021, in Murfreesboro, TN. Mr. Whitefield was born in Smith County, TN and was a son of the late Dewey and Virgie Bell Carter Whitefield. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Judith Fay Watts Whitefield, who died in 2014, and by several sisters and brothers.

Mr. Whitefield was a member of Cross Keys Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher and was very active in the music department of the church. He retired as Vice-President of the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers and started his career at the former Heil-Quaker Corporation in Lewisburg. Eddie was an avid outdoorsman and his passion was fishing.

Mr. Whitefield is survived by his daughter, Lisa (Terry) Savage, Farmington community; son, Jeff (Leigh) Whitefield, Columbia, TN; sister, Linda Gossett, Lawrenceburg, TN; grandson, Jake Savage, Chapel Hill, TN, and a very special companion, Frances Roberts, Spring Hill, TN.

Visitation with family members will be Monday, Sept. 13, 2021, from 4 until 8 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home. Family members will also receive friends Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2021, from 11 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. with funeral services to follow at 1:00 p.m. from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Rev. Matt Orman and Mark Wilkerson officiating. Burial will follow in Swanson Cemetery in Chapel Hill.

Terry Savage, Jake Savage, Michael Wilson, Ray Whitefield, Tommy Wiggington, Mark Wilkerson, Fred Haley, Lonnie Ragsdale will serve as active pallbearers.  Honorary pallbearers will be Jessie Crawford, Charlie Brock, Lonnie Beckham, and Buster Newsom.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations, in memory of Eddie Whitefield, may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN  38105-9959.
