Mr. Douglas S. "Doug" Martin, age 58, of Lewisburg, died Thursday, October 27, 2016 at William P. Clements Jr. University Hospital in Dallas, Texas.

Mr. Martin was a native of Marshall County, the son of the late Jewell Wayne and Hilda Claire Leonard. He was a self-employed heavy machinery operator and was a member of the Westvue Church of Christ.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Lynda Spivey and a brother, Leonard Martin.

He is survived by his wife, Karen Jones Martin; two daughters, Beth (Brandon) Hanson of Murfreesboro and Mary (Levi) Scoggins of Lewisburg; and one sister, Margaret (Dale) Turner of Middlesboro, Kentucky. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Wesley and Tim Hanson, and Syndey and Brownie Scoggins.

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at 10 a.m. from Westvue Church of Christ with burial to follow in Head Springs Cemetery in Belfast.

Visitation with the family began on Tuesday evening from 4 until 8 p.m. and continued on Tuesday until the funeral hour.
