Dorothy Harrison Singleton, 79, of Cornersville, died Monday, Aug. 19, 2019, at Poplar Estates in Columbia.
She was a native of Giles County, the daughter of the late James William and Molly Nolen Harrison. She was an educator for the Marshall County School System at Cornersville High School and was a member of the Robertson Fork Church of Christ.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Evelyn Bruckata and Sarah Marie Goodrich, and a brother, Nolen Brown Harrison.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Donald Singleton; one daughter, Donita (Darrell) Prentice of Columbia; three sons, Donnie (Nancy) Singleton, Dwayne Singleton and Dennis Singleton, all of Cornersville; brother, Jimmy Harrison of Minor Hill; sister, Margaret (Jim) Gregory of Mt. Juliet; grandchildren, Seth (Callie) Singleton, Abel (Brooke) Singleton, Josh Singleton, Justin Singleton, Hannah Singleton, Jamey Singleton, Jake Singleton, Will and Jack Holt; great-grandchildren, Klaus Harris, Amzie Singleton.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2019, at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Cornersville Funeral Home with burial to follow in Mars Hill Cemetery.
Visitation with the family will begin Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2019, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and will continue Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2019, until the funeral hour.
