Dorothea Morgan Oaks, 103, of Chapel Hill, passed away on Monday, Feb. 10, 2014, at her residence.
A native of Lebanon, Ind., Mrs. Oaks was the daughter of the late Vern Morgan and Beatrice Powell Morgan. She was in retail and a member of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan Oaks; one daughter, Patricia N. Abney, who passed away in 2009; and her sister, Thelma Harris, who passed away in 2007.
She is survived by two granddaughters, Malia (Jimmy) Reed of Chapel Hill and Lisa Michon of Nashville; one grandson, Kevin (Cathy) Wilson of Sparta, 11 great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren.
The family will hold private services at a later date.
