Mrs. Doris Farrar Flowers, 97, of Florence, AL, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2019. Mrs. Flowers was born on June 4, 1922, in Benton County to the late Ruben Nelson Farrar and Jewell Hollingsworth Farrar. She was also preceded in death by her husband J.T. Flowers; sister Myrtle Frances Curl; grandchildren, Leah Walker and Steve Jones; son-in-law, Danny Walker. Mrs. Flowers was a secretary and lifelong member of the First Baptist Church in Camden, TN, a resident of Keestone of Florence the past four years, and a member of Peggy Hyde’s Small Group class at Highland Baptist Church in Florence, AL.
Survives include sons, Steve (Lajuan) Flowers of Saltillo, MS and Jimmy (June) Flowers of Mooresville, TN; daughters, Donna Jones of Portland, ME, Kay Walker (Ken) Zike of Camden, TN, Judy (Jason) Stevens of Florence, AL, Cindy (Keith) Brower of Collierville, TN, and Tina (Keith) Sumner of Dresden, TN; twenty-one grandchildren; thirty-seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, Aug. 25, 2019, at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Camden with Bro. Keith Sumner officiating. Burial will follow in the Camden City Cemetery.
Visitation with the family will be held Saturday, Aug. 24, 2019, from 5-8 p.m. at Oakdale Funeral Home and again Sunday, Aug. 25, 2019, from 1-2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Camden, TN.
