CELINA — Not much when the Cornersville Bulldogs’ way in Friday night’s 38-6 non-region loss at Clay County.
In the Battle of the Bulldogs, the Clay County ‘Dogs shutout Cornersville through the first half and limited the effectiveness on the offensive side of the ball.
In total, Cornersville totaled 143 yards of offense, with 132 coming on the ground.
Junior Ben Franklin provided the lone highlight of the night for the Bulldogs, scoring on a 90-yard touchdown jaunt with 1:29 left in the third quarter.
Cornersville’s two-point conversion attempt, failed, however.
Clay County proved to be fairly balanced on offense, rushing for three touchdowns and 253 yards on the ground, and adding two more through the air to go along with 146 passing yards.
Cornersville looks to bounce back in the win column on Friday night at Collinwood.
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
