Boyd and Jones were unreal at the plate as Boyd finished the twin bill with six hits in eight at bats, drove in seven, and scored six times.
All of Boyd's hits were extra base knocks with three solo homeruns, a grand slam, and two doubles.
Jones also cranked three long dingers (2 solo, 1 three-run HR), drove in seven, scored six times, walked once, and stole a base.
Two Marshall County players, sophomores Brandie Jett (Marshall County High School) and Rachel Curtis (Forrest) played every inning of both games.
Jett, coming off a torrid hitting streak that included quadruple 4-4 games, cooled off a bit on Saturday as the sophomore center fielder went 1-5 with one run scored, one stolen base, and one base on balls.
Curtis finished the double bubble 2-5 with two runs scored, two RBIs, a base on balls, and a sacrifice bunt.
Also on the squad, currently acting as manager is former MCHS standout KiKi Summers, who transferred from Martin-Methodist and will have two years of eligibility remaining, starting in August.
Former Columbia Central High School stars and Lady Charger freshmen Amber Lockridge and Crislyn Reese saw some action with Lockridge starting each game in right field and going 1-5 with one base on balls, one RBI, and one run scored.
Reese played in game two and went 1-2 with a single up the middle.
Freshman Lacie Patterson from Southhaven, Mississippi picked up the win in the circle in game one, pitching the all five innings and giving up two earned runs on five hits, while striking out seven and walking none.
In game two, Oxnard, California native Danette Amar, also a freshman notched the win in the circle for the Lady Chargers, striking out five and walking two batters in five innings of one-hit, shutout softball.
CSCC head coach Johnny Littrell and his Lady Chargers will be back in action on Thursday at 4 p.m. when they host the Wallace State Lady Lions.
