He was preceded in death by his infant son, Darrell; parents, Url and Mary Smithson; and sisters, Bobbye Powers and Catherine Smithson.

Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. Friday, July 6, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, July 7, at Lawrence Funeral Home.
Services will be conducted at 11a.m. Saturday, July 7, from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Pastor Jimmy Hendricks officiating. Burial will follow in Neapolis Cemetery.
Lawrence Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Chapel Hill, is in charge of arrangements.
