Charles Blankenship, age 73 passed away Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2017, in Marshall Medical Center in Lewisburg, TN. He was born in Henderson County, TN to the late Herbert Hadley and Bertha Mercer Blankenship. Charles retired from the City of Lewisburg where he was a police officer for 12 years and 18 years in the street department.
He was preceded in death along with his parents, by his son, Charles Brent Blankenship; a step-son, Thomas Timothy Simmons; and a step-daughter, Glenda Sue Carnell. Charles is survived by his wife, Sue Ann Thomas Blankenship; a brother, Johnny Adam (Evelyn) Blankenship, Linden, TN; a sister, Ann Blankenship, Decaturville, TN; three grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
Visitation was with the family on Friday, Feb. 17, 2017, 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. The funeral service was Saturday, Feb. 18, 2017, at 2 p.m. Burial followed in Lone Oak Cemetery.
