Betty Jean Sturgill

Mrs. Betty Jean Sturgill, 73, of Lewisburg, died Wednesday, May 28, 2008, at Maury Regional Hospital.

Mrs. Sturgill was a native of Hillsdale, Mich. She was a housewife and a member of the Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Boy and Ella Mae Hammell Ackley; sister, Peggy Joanne Ackley; brother, Johnny Ackley; and granddaughter, Stacy Lynn Sheffer.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Curtis Sturgill and daughter, Pamela (Rocky) Mealer, both of Lewisburg; sons, Steven C. Sturgill of Michigan and Jeffrey D. Sturgill of Lewisburg; brothers, Billy Dean (Peggy) Ackley of Spring Hill and Bobby J. (Lola) Ackley of Michigan; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday, May 31, from the chapel of London Funeral Home, followed by burial in Lone Oak Cemetery.
