Alvis Lee King, 69, of Lewisburg, died Wednesday, July 31, 2013, in NHC Lewisburg Healthcare.
Mr. King was a native of Marshall County, and son of the late John Alvis and Nancy Elizabeth Williams King. He was a longtime employee of Holder's Body Shop.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a half-brother, Tommy Austin, and half-sister, Katie Campbell.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Joyce King of Lewisburg; three daughters, Lila (Wayne) Jenkins of Lewisburg, Beverly (Paul) Jett of Petersburg, and Missy (Bob) Ingram of Lewisburg; an additional daughter, Claudia (Daniel) Jones of Lewisburg; brother, Carl King of Lewisburg; two sisters, Gladys Lowe Tucker of Columbia and Mary Jane McClendon of Petersburg; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday, Aug. 4, from the chapel of London Funeral Home, followed by burial in the Gills Chapel Cemetery.
London Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
