The Forrest Rockets took a businesslike approach to Unionville Friday night, shutting out the Vikings 42-0 to remain unbeaten on the season. "We just wanted to come over here and get a win and move on to Homecoming week," Forrest coach Brent Johns said. The Rockets (5-0, 2-0) rushed for 211 yards in the contest and threw for 100 more, while the defense held Community to 157 total yards and did not allow the Vikings to cross midfield the entire first half. more
Forrest basketball coach Randy Toombs will be hosting a non-TSSAA sanctioned fall league on September 12, 19 and 26, and again on October 3, 17 and 24 with two games on all six days. The age groups for the league is 9-12 grade and the cost is $60 per player... more
The Forrest Lady Rockets, coming off a 7-1 thrashing over Fayetteville, made the short trip to Unionville on Tuesday and left their offense at home as the Viqueens soundly defeated Chapel Hill 4-1. "We started off from behind and usually that's what will happen when get behind and you try to claw your way back," Forrest coach Nicole Pickle said. "I'm proud of the girls, they came together as a team tonight, they hustled, they played hard, but unfortunately we just couldn't get any luck." more

The Community Middle School Vikings invaded Chapel Hill Thursday night and almost pulled off a win over the FMS Rockets, but a big second half propelled Forrest to a hard fought 26-22 win. All the credit goes to Community, they played really hard and are a very physical football team," FMS coach Corey Searcy said. The Cornersville Bulldogs turned the corner on their season Friday night when they demolished Moore County 39-14 on Homecoming at Frog Bottom. "This was a game that left a sour taste in our mouth last year," Cornersville coach Gerard Randolph said. "They really beat our young team up last year, so we wanted to do a better job of competing and responding to adversity and as a staff, we were pleased with the effort that our guys showed." more
The Marshall County Tigers had no problems in Music City Friday night, trouncing East Nashville Magnet School 41-7 to remain unbeaten on the season. The Tigers (4-0, 1-0) jumped out to fast start, scoring two touchdowns in the first quarter before backing those points up with 20 more in the second quarter to open up a wide 34-7 lead. more
The torturing caused by three straight losses to Page is over for Forrest as the Rockets travelled to Rudderville Friday and came away with a solid 21-14 win over the Patriots. Lewisburg Middle School is making history. On August 8th, the Marshall County Board of Education approved LMS principal's Randy Hubbell's proposal for a cross country team at LMS. Practice started a week later with over thirty participants. After just two weeks practice, LMS competed in their first meet on Saturday, September 3rd. The Marshall County Cross Country season is getting up to full steam as all three county schools now have their own individual teams where before they were all under the umbrella of Marshall County High School. Heather Denton (MCHS), Jennifer Gaskill (Forrest) and Ben Putnam (Cornersville) coach the squads in a sport that has grown by leaps and bounds in the county. more

The Lady Bulldogs (2-3, 2-2) welcomed its second straight undefeated district opponent to Cornersville on Thursday night when Grace Christian Franklin (4-2, 4-0) paid a visit and much like the previous game against Fairview, the home team played a well fought game but could not get much going on the offensive end and ended up with a 4-1 loss. more
The Tigers welcomed a Tullahoma team that has not won a game since Halloween night of 2014 to Lewisburg on Friday night and despite the Wildcats' dismal record the past two years, Marshall County did not take them lightly which translated to 55-7 drubbing over the team from Coffee County. "Our game plan was to play to our standard all night and play a clean game," MCHS coach Thomas Osteen said. "Play to our level of football no matter who we are playing. I think for the most part we did that." more
After the "One Drive" win over Moore County last week, the Forrest Rockets made their first road trip of the year to Westmoreland and came away with a heart wrenching 13-12 win via a Javier Rios 26-yard field goal with 1:49 remaining in the contest. "I can't begin to explain how important Javier is to our football program," Forrest coach Brent Johns said. "Without him we don't win that game Friday night." more
In a wild affair at Franklin, the Cornersville Bulldogs picked up their first win of the season as they took a 35-28 coast-to-coast win over Grace Christian Academy (GCA). "We are going to face adversity, it's going to happen in football," Cornersville coach Gerard Randolph said. "You have to be able to respond to it and the guys did a good job of that tonight." But it wasn't easy as the Bulldogs had to overcome some fourth quarter mistakes that turned into 21 points for the Lions and the game ended with GCA tackled at the one-inch line as time ran out. more
