The Forrest Rockets hosted Murfreesboro Central Magnet School (MCM) Tuesday night in the District 12-AA opener at Chapel Hill and the two teams battled the entire night with the Tigers coming up with a one-point, 45-44 win to extend Forrest’s losing streak to six games.
"We played better, we thought we had a good game plan going in to try and surprise them,” Forrest coach Corey Bishop said. “The guys did a great job. I let them down. I need to be doing a better job of putting them in winning situations in critical moments.”

The Forrest Lady Rockets just would not quit Tuesday night, coming from behind to claim a gut-wrenching 43-38 overtime win over Murfreesboro Central Magnet School (MCM) in the District 12-AA opener for both squads.
"We thought it showed their character,” Forrest coach Corey Bishop said. “To be down essentially the entire game and then fight back the way they did is a testament to their desire to not ever give up.
“I like teams that have that persona and we as a coaching staff are very proud of them."

The fact that Lewisburg sits about an hour south of the usual recruiting stops by college coaches, recruiting the Volunteer State has done little to deter Thomas Osteen and his staff from making sure that players that put the time in and want to play at the next level-- find a home at the next level.
The class of 2021 will not be an exception as star linebacker Christian Stacey inked with Lindsey Wilson College during the fall signing period with both receiver A'Ky Howard and kick Jon Estes both expected to make their decisions on down the line.

The Marshall County Tigers picked up their second win in a row, but it wasn’t easy as they had to hold off a determined Cornersville Bulldog squad trying to defend their home court on Tuesday night.
The two intra-county rivals, playing for the first time in 13 years, battled back and forth the entire contest with the Tigers staving off a late Bulldogs’ charge to win 41-39.

Marshall County High School took the short bus trip to Cornersville Tuesday night for an intra-county rivalry matchup and the Tigerettes came out gunning, draining 11 3-pointers in a 52-35 win over the Lady Bulldogs. “Offensively we played pretty good,” MCHS coach David Steely said. “We made shots and that is what the offense is about and we did a good job of creating for the next person instead of being selfish.”...

There are so many tribulations in the present time as the world battles the Covid-19 pandemic, our country’s divisive political climate, and the daily struggles of raising families in an ever changing modern world.
But let’s not forget the struggles of others as they go through hardship and pain that we don’t see, let’s not forget the cherished Chapel Hill McClendon family that has given us so much joy in the athletic arenas for over 20 years.

Freed-Hardeman University plucked a gem when Forrest’s Max Kirby recently signed a Letter of Intent to play baseball next season for the Lions.
“It is a big relief,” Kirby said. “I have been working since I was five years old to play college ball.”
“I am glad I found a great program that is my willing to take me.”
Kirby is adding his name to the long tradition of versatile athletes at Chapel Hill, playing on Forrest middle school teams that won Duck River Valley Conference titles in baseball, football, and basketball before concentrating on baseball and football in high school.
