It was a historic night for middle school football in Marshall County Tuesday night with the first ever regular season match up between the Cornersville Middle School Bulldogs and the Lewisburg Middle School Tigers. The Marshall County Tigers football team traveled to Greenbrier to face the Bobcats on Friday night. The Tigers found the Bobcats unfriendly host as they ran past Marshall County 35-6. Greenbrier came in with a powerful running game and proved too much for the Tigers to handle as they amassed 356 rushing yards. The Forrest Cross Country Team competed in its first meet on Aug. 31 at Sharp Springs Park in Smyrna. The girls placed third out of fourteen teams competing. Receiving individual awards for high placings were Thea Ledbetter, Kensie McKee, Heather Collins, Sarah Martinez and Quintin Watkins. Amazingly, Watkins lost a shoe in the first half mile; then went on to not only finish the race, but to receive a high placing. The team is coached by Jilly Russell and Shawn Jones...
