The Forrest Middle School Lady Rockets took second place at the TMSAA Small School Area Tournament in Lawrenceburg Thursday night after their third loss of the year to Moore County in the Championship game by a score of 31-21. MCHS head coach Jason Tigert went into the contest versus Page with the intention of letting his players loose and gettting in a track meet with the Patriots and that is just what they did as they ran all night and beat Page easily, 79-64. The pressure was clearly on Moore County Tuesday night in their match-up in Cornersville and the Lynchburg school came through on both fronts. The Forrest Jr/Sr High School's Rocket Band of Blue took home the second place trophy form the Division I State Marching Band Finals in Murfreesboro at Riverdale High School. The band, under the direction of Mr. Billy Bateman, not only placed second in a field of 24 bands from across the state, but was the only band rated superior in all four categories of Field Commander, Color Guard, Percussion, and Band.The band had placed in the top ten finalist for the last six years, but this is their highest award so far.. ... more
