The Cornersville Bulldogs were the last men's team standing in Marshall County in the post-season, reaching the semi-finals of the Region 6A Tournament before falling to Moore County 81-57 Tuesday night in Mt. Pleasant. The Dawgs, who finished the season at 15-15 played an inspired first half versus the number one-seeded Raiders, leading 23-19 after the first quarter and trailing by just two points, 39-37 at the half... more

The Cornersville Bulldogs (15-14) recorded one of the biggest wins in the history of their program Saturday, defeating District 12-A regular season champ Summertown, 59-51, on the road in the first round of the Region 6-A tournament. After defeating Cornersville by 20 points at the beginning of the season, the Eagles (24-6) appeared headed towards another convincing victory early on. Having trounced East Literature 52-19 in their lone encounter during the regular season, the Marshall County Tigerettes (27-4) once again had little trouble disposing of the Lady Eagles Monday night, as they rolled to a 58-30 victory in the semifinals of the Region 5-AA tournament... more
The Marshall County Tigers looked into a mirror Saturday night at David Lipscomb and did not like the reflection they saw. The Cornersville Lady Bulldogs' season came to an end Friday night in Waynesboro when they dropped a 65-47 decision to a powerful Wayne County Lady Wildcat squad (27-5) in the first round of the Region 6-A tournament. Cornersville (17-12) hung tough early on and played the Lady Wildcats to a 22-22 tie in the first half. Wayne County, however, caught fire offensively in the second half and outscored the Lady Bulldogs 43-25 over the final two quarters to claim the 18-point victory... more
The Cornersville Bulldogs evened their season record at 14 with a hard-fought, come-from-behind 60-58 victory over Richland last week in Culleoka in the consolation game of the District 11A Tournament. It was a back-and-forth battle the entire game between the two squads, but some fourth-quarter heroics by Chuck Bassham and Jimmy Civils helped the Dawgs defeat the Raiders for the third time this season... more

The Marshall County Tigerettes (26-4) advanced to the semifinals of the Region 5-AA tournament by defeating the Christ Presbyterian Academy Lady Lions, 56-36, in the first round Friday night, Feb. 22, at Dottie Kelso Gymnasium. Although Marshall County hammered CPA, 65-24, last year in the opening round of the Region tournament, the Lady Lions showed some fight in Friday's contest and trailed by just a point early in the second quarter... more
