After ten years away from Moore County, Forrest head coach Jeremy Jean returned to his basketball roots Friday night, leading the Lady Rockets back to Lynchburg for the first time since taking over the helm at Chapel Hill in 2008. Jean was a member of Moore County's 1999 state championship basketball team. Jean, an all-state tournament team selection that season, poured in 25 points, including 6 treys for the Raiders in their 60-49 win over Cosby in the '99' title game...

Cornersville junior Haley Fagan proved that a small town girl can make it to the big stage of college athletics when she recently committed to play softball at the University of Tennessee. Recruited primarily because of her prowess in the pitching circle, Fagan also received scholarship offers from Mississippi State and UT-Martin and received serious interest from SEC powers Alabama and Georgia, who both reached the semifinals of the 2009 College Softball World Series. ...

The Forrest Lady Rockets, coming off their first loss of the season at the hands of CPA, came back with a vengeance Friday in Chapel Hill versus Eagleville, routing the Lady Eagles 71-23 in the District 9A opener. The Cornersville Bulldogs season came to an end Friday night, as CHS suffered a 41-28 loss on the road to the Perry County Vikings in the first round of the Class A playoffs.
