After suffering a 53-46 loss to Collinwood in their last outing, the Forrest Rockets bounced back by defeating Columbia Academy and Summit at the Eagleville Christmas Classic.
Forrest (10-6) whipped CA 66-52 on Thursday night before pulling out a hard fought 40-35 victory over Summit on Friday after rallying from an 17-point first quarter deficit.

On Thursday, the Marshall County Tigers (9-3) snapped a two-game losing streak by defeating the Collinwood Trojans 56-41 at the Richland Christmas Classic with the help of a dominant first quarter performance.
Marshall County appeared they were going to run the Trojans (8-6) out of the gym in the opening half and led by as many as 25 points in the second quarter before taking a 35-13 advantage into the break.

Sometimes good isn't good enough. Despite turning in a solid performance, the Marshall County Tigers suffered their fourth loss of the season on Friday night when they were defeated 63-54 by Class A power Perry County at the Richland Christmas Classic.
Although the Vikings advanced to the semifinals of the Class A State tournament last season and boasted an impressive 10-3 record coming into Friday's contest, the Tigers (9-4) got the better of Perry County early on and held a 27-24 lead at the break.

Coming off a 60-48 loss to Wayne County the previous day, the Cornersville Lady Bulldogs (6-9) turned in a more determined effort on Friday, but were unable to take home a win and dropped a hard fought 56-54 decision to the Collinwood Trojanettes at the Richland Christmas Classic.
After taking a 23-18 lead into halftime, Collinwood held a 46-40 advantage late in the fourth quarter, but the Lady Bulldogs battled back and sliced the deficit to 55-54 with :11 left.

On Thursday, defending Class A state champ Wayne County (6-6) handed the Cornersville Lady Bulldogs (6-8) their third straight loss, as the Lady Wildcats defeated CHS 60-48 at the Richland Christmas Classic.
Cornersville stumbled out of the gate and trailed by as many as 14 points in the second quarter before Wayne County took a 31-18 lead into halftime.

Dade County, Georgia, simply had too much offensive firepower for the Cornersville Lady Bulldogs (6-7), as the undefeated Lady Wolverines defeated CHS 69-50 behind a barrage of three-pointers at the Community Christmas Classic on Tuesday.
Ranked eighth in Georgia's Class AA poll, Dade County (11-0) built a 28-19 lead in the first half before outscoring the Lady Bulldogs 41-31 over the final two quarters to pull away for the 19-point victory.

After recording their biggest win of the season three days earlier against District rival Santa Fe, the Cornersville Lady Bulldogs (6-6) suffered a humbling 48-35 loss to the Community Viqueens on Monday night at the Community Christmas Classic.
Cornersville had won the last 10 meetings against the Viqueens, which included a 48-38 victory in their season opener on Nov. 15, but got off to a sluggish start in Monday's contest and trailed 22-18 at halftime.

The Cornersville Bulldogs (2-10) suffered their fourth straight loss on Monday night when they were beaten 64-31 by the Community Vikings at the Community Christmas Classic.
Having defeated Cornersville 59-38 earlier in the season, the Vikings (10-2) dominated Monday's contest from the start and built a 36-13 lead in the first half before forging a 60-21 advantage late in the third quarter en route to claiming the 33-point victory.

On Tuesday, the Cornersville Bulldogs (2-11) were competitive for a half, but were unable to keep pace with Webb (6-9) for all four quarters, as the Feet defeated CHS 53-32 at the Community Christmas Classic in Unionville.
After falling behind 21-6 early in the second quarter, the Bulldogs outscored Webb 11-2 over the final 5:35 of the stanza behind seven points from freshman guard Jamie Crowell to narrow the gap to 23-17 at the break.

The red-hot Marshall County Tigers headed up to Music City on a seven game winning streak to face Smyrna Tuesday in an afternoon contest at the East Literature Christmas Classic and went ice-cold in a 62-46 shellacking by the Bulldogs.
The Tigers started in stride with a Cameron Bowers jumper that was matched by Bulldog guard Wayne Jones.

The Marshall County Tigerettes took a very early lead on Smyrna, fell behind big, and then fought back before finally succumbing 50-41 Tuesday at the East Literature Christmas Classic in Nashville.
It was the fourth loss in a row for the Tigerettes (2-13), who take on McGavock on Thursday at East Literature.

For the first time in several years, there was much uncertainty surrounding the contest that pitted defending Class A state champion Wayne County and the Forrest Lady Rockets, but in the end, it was the Lady Cats prevailing, 45-30 Monday night at the Waynesboro Christmas Classic.
It was win number three in a row for the Lady Cats over Forrest and five out nine since 2006.

The Forrest Rockets like coming to Waynesboro for the Annual Christmas Tournament and it shows as they won for the second consecutive year over the Wildcats and three out of the fives times they have made the long trek.
On Monday, the Rockets took a hard earned 65-60 win, holding off a huge fourth quarter comeback attempt by Wayne County after Forrest had led by as much as 18 points midway through the third period.
"It's like a shrine in here," said Forrest's Zach Horvath before the game. "We love coming to Waynesboro and are used to shooting in here because we come down for summer camp every year."

Despite being without the services of starting guard Briley Bean, who was sidelined by a wrist injury, the Cornersville Middle School Lady Bulldogs snapped a four-game losing streak on Thursday night by defeating the Elkton Lady Elks 23-17 at home.
Having already beaten Elkton twice this season, the Lady Bulldogs (8-8) held a 13-7 lead at halftime before opening up a 21-9 advantage with 4:50 left in the fourth quarter. CMS then had to stave off a late Lady Elk rally attempt to claim their eighth victory of the season.

CMS was swimming upstream the entire contest, as Elkton built a 21-6 lead in the first half prior to opening up a 35-11 advantage late in the third quarter.

On Friday, the Cornersville Bulldogs fell to 0-3 in District play when they were thumped 59-22 on the road by the Santa Fe Wildcats.
With starters Haydon McMahon and Danny Gordon both sidelined by injuries, the Bulldogs (2-9) were simply overmatched physically by the Wildcats. Santa Fe (6-4, 3-1 District) raced out to a 33-10 lead in the first half, before outscoring CHS 26-12 over the final two quarters to roll to the 37-point victory.

Coming off a frustrating loss to Fairview the previous evening, the Marshall County Tigerettes (2-12) endured more trials and tribulations on Saturday night when they were defeated 43-29 by the Lincoln County Lady Falcons in Fayetteville.
Lincoln County (8-3) led the game from start to finish and held a 26-16 advantage at halftime before outscoring MCHS 17-13 over the final two quarters to claim the 14-point victory.

In a District 12AA contest in Lewisburg, the Marshall County Tigerettes battled and fought the Lady Yellow Jackets from Fairview the entire game before succumbing in the final minutes Friday night, losing in the end 37-31.
Marshall County built a nice 8-3 first quarter lead behind five points from Destiny Moore and three points by Jameka Braden, but the five-point gap was short-lived as Fairview's Dani Moore hit a deuce and a trey as the first period ended knotted up at eight.
