After losing to South Lawrence 44-25 earlier in the season, the Cornersville Lady Bulldogs (9-8) avenged their defeat to the Lady Stallions on Monday night when they pulled out a 32-27 victory at home. South Lawrence held a 21-16 lead late in the third quarter, but the Lady Bulldogs came on strong down the stretch and closed the game with a 16-6 run to record their second straight victory. more
For the second time in three games, the Cornersville Bulldogs (2-14, 0-6 District) turned in a gritty effort, but were unable to take home a win, as they lost 56-50 on the road to the Hampshire Hawks on Tuesday night. The Bulldogs only trailed 30-27 late in the third quarter, but the Hawks used a 21-9 run to open up a 51-36 advantage with 1:54 left in the fourth period. more
Having won the last 13 meetings between the two teams, the Cornersville Lady Bulldogs once again had little trouble disposing of District 11-A foe Hampshire on Tuesday night, as they pummeled the Lady Hawks 69-29 on the road. Cornersville (9-9, 5-1 District) buried Hampshire (3-13, 0-6 District) early and built a 44-19 lead in the first half before outscoring the Lady Hawks 25-10 over the final two periods to roll to their third straight victory. more
Having defeated E.O. Coffman by 50 points in their first encounter of the season, the Lewisburg Middle School Tigers (11-4) once again had an easy time dispatching of the Panthers on Thursday night, as they beat their conference rival 43-25 at home. Despite getting off to a slow start, the Tigers held a 24-11 lead at halftime before opening up a 24-point cushion at the end of the third quarter en route to claiming their 11th victory of the season. more
After losing 39-31 to E.O. Coffman in their previous encounter on Dec. 5, the Lewisburg Middle School Tigerettes (8-7) turned the tables on the Lady Panthers when they pulled out a hard fought 25-20 victory at home on Thursday night. LMS held an 11-9 lead at halftime before opening up a 19-13 advantage with 5:30 left in the fourth quarter. E.O. Coffman (9-8) sliced the deficit to 21-20 midway through the fourth, but would pull no closer, as the Tigerettes scored the final four points of the contest to claim their eighth win of the season. more
Coming off a 51-41 loss to archrival Spring Hill, the Marshall County Tigers (10-5, 6-2) showed signs of an emotional hangover on Friday night, but still defeated the Hickman County Bulldogs 58-53 at home to snap a two-game losing streak. Having won all ten meetings against Hickman County since the Bulldogs rejoined their District in 2007, Marshall County held a 29-20 lead at the break despite getting off to a sluggish start. more
The Cornersville Lady Bulldogs maintained their tie with Richland atop the District 11-A standings by defeating the Mt. Pleasant Lady Tigers 41-29 at home on Friday night. In the night cap, the Bulldogs ran into a buzz saw and were thumped 73-30 by an strong Tiger squad to suffer their seventh straight loss. more
On Friday night, the Marshall County Tigerettes notched their third straight win by defeating District 12-AA rival Hickman County 36-35 at home. The Forrest Rockets met up with the Fayetteville High School Tigers for the first time Friday night in Chapel Hill and the fans got their money's worth as the two teams put on a run and gun show with the Rockets prevailing 74-60 thanks to a big 21-9 fourth quarter outburst. The Rockets opened up a 7-0 lead on the jittery Tigers to begin the contest with Zach Horvath, Mark Pope, and Colby Anglin scoring in succession before Fayetteville's Nick Hopkins drilled a three-pointer for his squad's initial basket at Forrest. more
The Forrest Rockets wanted two wins, but settled for a split in their last wrestling meet at home this season, beating Warren County 54-24 before losing to a tough Blackmon squad 61-18. In between the two Forrest matches, Blackman bested Warren County to sweep the meet. more
After a run and gun 74-60, District 9-A win over the newly opened Fayetteville High School on Friday night in Chapel Hill, the Forrest Rockets hosted the Summertown Eagles on Saturday in a big non-league matchup. For much of the game, it looked like the host Rockets were running low on gas before exploding in the fourth quarter to pull off an exciting 61-57 come from behind win in front of a packed house. more
Forrest and first-year Fayetteville High School met for the first time Friday night in Chapel Hill in a homecoming tilt for the hometown Lady Rockets and the young and talented Lady Tigers gave their District 9-A opponents all they had before experienced paid off in the end as the Lady Rockets won going away 55-29. Sporting eighth, ninth, and tenth graders, Fayetteville ran and ran, and ran some more for a glimpse of what is to come as they mature as a basketball team in the upcoming years. more
Summertown rolled into Chapel Hill Saturday night with a swagger and then the Class A number seven ranked Lady Eagles backed it up with a convincing 56-34 win over the Lady Rockets. The Lady Eagles looked strong and in control, attacking Forrest (7-10) with a pressure defense that caused numerous Forrest turnovers in the contest, and on offense the Lady Eagles displayed a lethal combination of an inside power game supported by a deadeye three-point barrage. more

After posting an 8-1 record to start the season, the Marshall County Tigers (9-5, 5-2) have dropped four out of their last five ballgames with the latest loss coming at Spring Hill Tuesday night, 51-41. The Raiders came into the ballgame sporting an impressive 12-1 overall record and all twelve wins came after an opening season one-point 51-50 road loss to Summertown that they made up for Monday night in a fifty-one-point home romp over the Eagles. more
After breaking a four-game losing streak with a win over McGavock before Christmas, the Marshall County Tigerettes (4-13, 3-4) made it two in a row with a big 61-42 road win at Spring Hill (1-9, 0-6) Tuesday night. Jameka Braden turned in another stellar performance for the Tigerettes as the sophomore poured in a game-high 24 points that included an impressive 9-10 stint at the free throw line. more
Aided by the return of starting forward Hayden McMahon, the Cornersville Bulldogs (2-12, 0-4 District) gave Culleoka a tussle for three quarters, but ran out of steam in the fourth period, as they suffered a 58-42 loss to the Warriors on the road. It wasn't pretty, but the Cornersville Lady Bulldogs (7-9, 3-1 District) snapped a four-game losing streak on Tuesday night by defeating the Culleoka Lady Warriors 43-42 on the road. Although Cornersville had won the previous 17 meetings against Culleoka, the two teams battled to a 22-22 tie in the first half of Tuesday's contest after the Lady Warriors (5-8, 2-3 District) led for much of the first two quarters. more
The Forrest Lady Rockets (6-9) ended the calendar year on a strong note, as they recorded lopsided victories over Columbia Academy and Summit at the Eagleville Christmas Classic. Forrest opened the tournament by pounding CA 50-27 on Thursday afternoon before crushing Summit 60-28 on Friday. more
