The Cascade Lady Champions invaded Forrest Friday night with the intention of upsetting the Lady Rockets and almost pulled it off before some late magic catapulted the Chapel Hill girls to a 61-58 double-overtime win.
An elated Forrest head coach Jeremy Jean said after the win, "It's been a bumpy ride, but right now, the girls are buying into want we want to do and they are playing pretty good. If you think about it, we had graduated almost everyone who had played, so a lot of these kids have stepped up and played big minutes and big basketball. We have only won two district games by more than ten points twice, so they are getting tougher playing in close games and that will help us come tournament time."

For two quarters, the Marshall County Tigers played to the level of their young, but hungry District 12-AA opponent Summit Spartans before coming to life in a 49-34 win in Lewisburg Tuesday night.
"Summit is an extremely talented team," said MCHS head coach Jason Tigert. "They are just young and you see that a lot of times in young teams where they play well in spurts. They are well-coached and talented and that is always a dangerous combination."

The Marshall County Tigers trailed for much of the ballgame at Lewis County Friday night, before a fourth quarter rally put them over the top in a 53-48 win.
"In the first half, they had more energy, they made plays, we weren't giving a good defensive effort, and they were beating us on the glass," said MCHS head coach Jason Tigert. "In the second half I thought we got the pace of play where we wanted, we did a better job rebounding and didn't settle as much and we were fortunate to come out with the win."
