Coming off a 2-1 defeat to Moore County earlier in the morning, the Marshall County Tigerettes (11-8) extended their stay at the Lincoln County Border Battle by defeating the Tullahoma Lady Wildcats 2-1 in five innings on Saturday in the first round of the loser's bracket. With the game's reaching the end of its time limit, the two teams were locked in a 1-1 tie through the first four and a half innings of play before the Tigerettes pulled out the victory in the bottom of the fifth thanks to two-out RBI single by first baseman Katie Crabtree. more

After suffering a surprising 8-7 road loss to District 12-AA foe Fairview two days earlier, the Marshall County Tigers took out their frustrations on the Yellow Jackets on Thursday night when they rolled to a 10-0 victory in five innings at Joe George Field to earn a split of the regular season series. Shortstop Morgan Reese spearheaded an 11-hit attack by the Tigers (13-8, 8-2 District), as he went 3-for -3 with a double, a triple, 3 RBI, and three runs scored. Brandon Bush and Ryan McDaniel also tallied two hits apiece and drove in three and one run respectively, while Aaron Hobbs added a two-run homer. Dylan McKnight, Hayden Bailey, and Cody Vernon each had one hit for MCHS as well with McKnight knocking in one run. more
Having lost 9-4 on the road to Shelbyville three weeks earlier, the Marshall County Tigers (14-8) got even with the Golden Eagles on Friday night when they grinded out a 4-1 victory at Joe George Field. MCHS starting hurler Aaron Thomason turned in a strong performance on the mound and pitched all seven innings to earn the victory, as he piled up 10 strikeouts during that span while limiting the Golden Eagles to just five hits and a walk. more
The Forrest Lady Rockets got off to a fast start at the Franklin Sonic Invitational, beating Siegel, Hickman County, and Pope John Paul II before a pair of shutout losses to Ravenwood and Collierville ended their weekend at Fly Park. In game one, Forrest ace Brooke Herron and Siegel number one hurler Danielle O'Donnell hooked up in a pitcher's duel and both escaped two-on, two-out jams in the first inning. In the second inning, both squads had a runner on third with less than two outs, but could not plate a run. more
On Saturday in Franklin, the Forrest Lady Rockets struggled mustering some offense, but came back with a vengeance Monday night in Eagleville, pounding out 14 hits in a six-inning, 13-3 run-rule win over the Lady Eagles. Forrest head coach Becky Cheatham said after the game, "I am proud of them and I am pleased with the effort and glad everyone got a chance to play, so hopefully that will help them build some confidence." more
Giles County continued their perfect run on the pitch by defeating the Marshall County Tigers 2-0 on Monday afternoon at Sam Davis Park to run their record to 10-0 on the season. The Bobcats held a 1-0 lead at the break before tacking on another goal midway through the second half to claim their 10th victory of the year. more
The Cornersville Bulldogs had to settle for a split of the regular season series with District 11-A rival Columbia Academy, as they suffered a 9-2 road loss to CA on Tuesday after defeating the Maury County private school 7-1 the previous day. Columbia Academy (6-7, 3-2 District) grabbed the momentum early and tallied four runs in the bottom of the second inning to take a 4-0 lead. CA then plated five more runs over the next four innings to forge a 9-0 advantage before Cornersville (8-6-1, 6-2 District) crossed home plate twice in the top of the seventh thanks to a two-run single by Jonathan Douglas for the 9-2 final. more
After posting a 0-3-1 record at the Marshall County Invitational last week, the Cornersville Bulldogs righted the ship on Monday night by defeating defending District 11-A regular season champ Columbia Academy 7-1 at home. Aided by a solid pitching performance from freshman hurler David Looney, the Bulldogs (8-5-1, 6-1 District) held a 3-0 lead through the first four innings of play before crossing home plate four more times over the next two frames to pull away for the six-run victory. more
The Forrest Rockets did the splits recently, putting up a 2-2 record over the weekend during the Marshall County Invitational Tournament before splitting a home and home series with the Middle Tennessee Christian School Cougars. "The district games are what we are really worried about," said Forrest head coach Babe Hardison. "We played a good bit of competition this weekend, you don't expect to win all those ballgames when you are pitching down the line a little bit, but we beat a good Greenbrier team handily." The Rockets dropped a pair of close games on Friday, falling 7-5 to Summertown and 10-9 to Murfreesboro Central Magnet School. more
The FMS Rockets continued their torrid season with a pair of wins during the spring school break, beginning with a 14-0 run-rule win at E.A. Cox on Monday as ace hurler Alex Brewer twirled his third no-hitter of the campaign. Brewer, who tossed no-no's versus Eagleville and Westwood earlier in the season, struck out seven Cougar batters in the ballgame and just missed a perfect game, issuing a lone one base on balls in the 58-pitch, five-inning win. more
After posting a pair of shutout victories over Cornersville and Murfreesboro Central Magnet the previous evening, the Marshall County Tigers suffered a slip up on Friday afternoon when they were defeated 3-1 at home by the Greenbrier Bobcats in the Marshall County Invitational. Greenbrier (7-7) held a 2-0 lead through the first six innings of play before tacking on an insurance run in the top of the seventh to open up a 3-0 advantage. The Bobcats then withstood a comeback attempt by the Tigers in the bottom of the seventh that saw MCHS leave the bases loaded. more
Despite resting many of their regular starters, the Marshall County Tigers (11-6) reeled off their fifth straight victory on Thursday night when they defeated Murfreesboro Central Magnet 7-0 at home in the Marshall County Invitational. MCHS starting hurler Morgan Reese went the distance on the mound to give the Tiger pitching staff their third consecutive complete game shutout, as he notched four strikeouts and limited Central Magnet to just three hits in seven scoreless innings of work to earn his second win of the season. more
The Marshall County Tigers (10-6) faced off against local rival Cornersville (7-3) for the first time in three years on Thursday afternoon when they defeated the Bulldogs 8-0 at home in the opening game of the Marshall County Invitational. After mustering just two singles in their previous outing against Hickman County two days earlier, the Tigers swung hot bats in Thursday's contest and banged out 11 hits overall against CHS starting pitcher Mikey Adams and reliever Matt Callender. more

Although they struggled offensively for the second straight game, the Marshall County Tigers bounced back from a 3-1 loss to Greenbrier the previous day by defeating the Summertown Eagles 1-0 at home on Saturday afternoon to finish the Marshall County Invitational with a 3-1 record. MCHS starting pitcher Ryan McDaniel turned in his best outing of the season, as he limited Summertown to just three hits and a walk in five scoreless innings of work to earn the victory. Dylan McKnight then came on in relief of McDaniel in the sixth and held the Eagles to two hits over the final two frames to pick up the save. more
Marshall County High School senior Devin Jouett will be a member of one of the top NAIA soccer programs in the country this coming Fall after signing a letter of intent to play for Martin Methodist College on Thursday morning at MCHS. A two-time All-District selection for the Tigerettes, Jouette transferred to Marshall County from Manifee County High School in Kentucky before the start of her junior year. Jouette then started at striker for coach Lisa Raffo's squad the last two seasons and led the Tigerettes in scoring during the 2010 campaign with seven goals and three assists. As a senior, Jouette turned in another solid season and tallied six goals, which was the second highest total on the team, while dishing out three assists. more
Coming off a 9-2 victory over Hickman County the previous evening, the Marshall County Tigers completed the regular season sweep of their District 12-AA rival on Tuesday night by defeating the Bulldogs 5-0 at home on the strength of a dominant pitching performance from starting hurler Dylan McKnight. With Tuesday's triumph, the Tigers (9-6) extended their current winning streak to three games and ran their record to 7-1 in District play. more
After pounding Spring Hill 16-1 the previous evening, the Marshall County Tigerettes kept their District 12-AA record unblemished by eking out a 3-2 win over archrival Giles County at home on Tuesday night. Having split the regular season series with MCHS last year, the Lady Bobcats (3-5, 3-3 District) once again put up a tough fight and battled Marshall County to a 2-2 tie through the first six and a half innings of play. more
After a disappointing loss to Huntland last Thursday, the Forrest Lady Rockets got back to business at the Field of Dreams in Chapel Hill Tuesday night versus Spring Hill, coming away with a 7-5 win. Freshman Katie Warrick's fifth homerun of the season, a towering grand slam in the bottom of the fourth inning turned out to be the difference in the ballgame for Forrest. Brooke Herron started in the circle for the Lady Rockets and went six innings to pick up the win, giving up three runs (one earned) on five hits, while striking out six, walking one, and hitting one Spring Hill batter. more
