Virginia is the daughter of Othella Endsley, Lewisburg who turns 100 next May the month these two graduate with the classes of 2013. Wade and Wyatt will be going head to head in their last regular season game at Lauderdale County, November 2nd. more
The Marshall County Tigers (4-5, 3-4 District) ended up shining when the spotlight was put on them, as they defeated archrival Page 28-27 at Preston Hopkins Field in the My TV 30 Thursday Night Lights Game of the Week to snap a three-game losing streak against the Patriots. Page (6-3, 6-1 District) came into Thursday's contest riding a six-game winning streak and held a 14-0 lead at halftime before taking a 27-14 advantage into the fourth quarter. more
To say that Forrest got lucky in a 33-27 win over archrival Cascade might be correct, but that would not give credit to a clutch effort turned in by the Rockets' defensive and offensive lines when it counted in overtime. Coming off a disappointing 56-46 setback to Columbia Academy seven days earlier, the Cornersville Bulldogs saw their playoff hopes take another hit on Friday night when they suffered a 47-21 road loss to Region 6-A co-leader Collinwood. Having defeated the Trojans 38-26 last year, the Bulldogs (3-6, 2-4 Region) self destructed at the start of Friday's contest and committed four first quarter turnovers while Collinwood (7-2, 5-1 Region) raced out to a 31-0 lead in the opening period. more

After helping the Cornersville Bulldogs defeat the Wayne County Wildcats 21-18 on Oct. 5, CHS senior quarterback Hayden McMahon was recognized for his exploits on the gridiron last Thursday when Nashville's WSMV Channel 4 News named him the Purity Dairy Farm Families Player of the Week. McMahon completed 19-of-33 passes for 258 yards and two touchdowns against Wayne County before beating Ensworth's Corn Elder, Mt. Juliet's Contrez McCathern, and Lawrence County's Marquis Lockridge in an online poll on WSMV's Touchdown Friday website to earn the station's Player of the Week Award. more
The Cornersville Bulldogs missed a chance to strengthen their playoff resume on Friday, as they suffered an agonizing 56-46 loss to Region 6-A rival Columbia Academy at home on Senior Night after squandering a 19-point second quarter lead. Having lost the last two meetings against CA, the Bulldogs (3-5, 2-3 Region) appeared to be in control of Friday's contest early on and held a 33-14 lead midway through the second quarter. more
The Marshall County Tigers' playoff chances dimmed quite a bit Friday night in foggy, misty and soggy Hohenwald, losing 33-28 to Lewis County after squandering a 20-7 first quarter lead. MCHS head coach Aaron Pitts said about his squad's dimming playoff hopes, "That was something I wish we would have taken care of tonight, we didn't, now are backs are against the wall and we have to keep on fighting to do what we can do to win these last two games." more
The Forrest Rockets took care of business in Franklin County Friday night, soaring over Huntland 42-20 to complete their first back-to-back win of the season and solidify post-season positioning. Forrest head coach Joe Moos said, "It felt really good to win two games in a row. I was getting nervous for a while, because of the win one and then lose one game. I really feel good about where the team is right now. The kids have worked really hard and have gotten better week after week." more

The Marshall County Tigerettes (3-10-2) had to overcome some early adversity, but lived to fight another day on the pitch after defeating the ninth seeded Huntland Lady Hornets 5-3 at home on Wednesday night in the District 11-A-AA tournament play-in game. Having beaten Huntland 3-0 in their lone regular season encounter, the eighth seeded Tigerettes got off to a sluggish start in Wednesday's contest and trailed 2-0 midway through the first half. more
All three county football teams came up with huge homecoming wins Friday night to get back in the thick of the playoff chase. The up and down Forrest Rockets sit at 4-3 after Friday night's 34-6 victory over MTCS, making it the third time this season the boys from Chapel Hill have bounced backed with a win after a loss. more
Forrest senior Blake Tansil represented Marshall County well at the Class A/AA State Golf Tournament in Manchester, grinding out scores of 87 and 86 at the 6,709 yard WillowBrook Golf Club. "It was a great experience, I wouldn't trade it for anything," said Tansil. "It was tough conditions, it was a learning experience, and I am happy to be here to give it a shot. All I wanted was a shot and I got it." more
Forrest (5-5, 4-5) had a bounce back season under first year coach Natalie Dennis, finishing at .500 for the first time three years, but for the fourth time in five years, the Lady Rockets made a first round exit out of the District 11A/AA Soccer Tournament after being blanked 2-0 at Middle Tennessee Christian School (MTCS) Thursday night. In a battle between the fourth and fifth seeds, it was the Lady Cougars (6-4-4), who came out determined not to let the Lady Rockets loose and for much of the game, MTCS supplied the offensive pressure. more
The Marshall County Tigerettes hung tough for a half on Thursday night, but were unable to keep pace with District foe Cascade for the entire game, as MCHS dropped a 5-1 decision to the third place Lady Champions at home on Senior Day. Aided by a strong performance from junior goaltender Atlanta Ferguson, the Tigerettes (2-10-2, 1-6-1 District) only trailed 1-0 at the end of the first half despite facing relentless offensive pressure from Cascade (8-5-1, 6-2 District). more
Despite getting off to a slow start, the Marshall County Tigers (3-4, 2-3 District) made sure their fans had a happy Homecoming when they defeated the Summit Spartans 45-12 at Preston Hopkins Field on Friday night. Having beaten Summit 35-0 last year, MCHS actually trailed 6-3 midway through the second quarter in Friday's contest due to a slew of first half penalties. more
The Cornersville Bulldogs (3-4, 2-2 Region) picked up an important win on Friday night when they defeated defending Class A state champ Wayne County 21-18 on Homecoming to snap a three-game losing streak. Cornersville landed the first punch of the game when senior quarterback Hayden McMahon connected with wide out Stone Riner for a 10-yard touchdown pass in the opening quarter while Victory Palma tacked on the extra point to give CHS a 7-0 lead. more
