Coming off a humbling 41-38 loss to Fayetteville the previous evening, the Cornersville Lady Bulldogs (12-8, 8-2 District) got back on track by going on the road and defeating Mt. Pleasant 43-27 on Friday night to complete the season sweep of the Lady Tigers. The Bulldogs (5-15, 3-7 District), meanwhile, suffered their second straight loss after dropping a 64-45 decision to Mt. Pleasant (14-5, 9-1 District) in the nightcap. more
The Forrest Rockets travelled to Unionville Friday night with expectations of moving up in the District 9-A standings, but Community would not allow even a sniff of an upset by the Chapel Hill boys as they went coast-to-coast in a 65-43 win. "We just got out of what we have been doing, we settled for too many jump shots and did not look to get the ball inside enough early and then we had to take jump shots because we got down," said Forrest head coach Wes Hobbs. "The bottom line was we were not the same team defensively and all the guys agreed in the locker room." more
On Thursday, the top-seeded Forrest Rockets (20-4) were looking to qualify for the state dual tournament for the first time in school history, but host Eagleville had other ideas when they came back from a 33-12 deficit to beat the Rockets. The defending Region 7 A/AA champion Eagles went on to win the dual crown, soaring past Fairview 60-21 in the finals to earn a berth in the state tournament. more
On Saturday, the Lewisburg Middle School Tigers (11-6) kept their season alive by pulling out a thrilling 39-37 victory over the Grassland Generals in the semifinals of the James C. Haile Invitational Tournament at Middle Tennessee Christian School. LMS appeared they might force the Generals to surrender early on and held an 18-6 lead in the second quarter, but Grassland (8-2) rallied their forces and bombarded Lewisburg with a 25-0 run to seize a 31-18 advantage with 5:51 left in the fourth period. more

Aided by a strong first quarter performance, the Bulldogs held a 35-23 lead at halftime before maintaining their double digit advantage through the final two quarters of play. more
After winning their four previous conference games by an average of 45.5 points, Christ Presbyterian Academy steamrolled another District 12-AA foe on Tuesday night when they thumped the Marshall County Tigers 82-40 in Lewisburg. Boasting five players on their roster that have either signed or received Division I scholarship offers in various sports, the Lions (21-1, 5-0 District) simply had too much firepower for MCHS (12-6, 3-1 District) and built a 45-28 lead in the first half before outscoring the Tigers 37-12 over the final two quarters to claim the 42-point victory. more
In three weeks, the Lady Rockets have gone from atop District 9-A into a freefall, losing four out of their last five district games with the latest setback coming at the hands of Moore County when they dealt Forrest a 55-53 overtime loss in Chapel Hill Tuesday night. The Forrest Rockets came back from a slow start to win going away 51-39 over Moore County Tuesday night in Chapel Hill, remaining in the hunt for a top-two seed in the upcoming District 9-A Tournament. Jacob Daughrity turned in his best offensive performance of the season, pouring in a game high 23 points, including several drives to the hoop that paid dividends in a 12-14 night from the free throw line for the senior guard. more
The Marshall County Tigerettes picked up big win on Tuesday night when they defeated two-time defending Class AA state champ Christ Presbyterian Academy 45-41. Marshall County (5-14, 2-2 District) played some of their best basketball of the season in the first half and built a 28-17 lead through the first two quarters of play. CPA (9-9, 3-2 District) rallied to tie the game at 34-34 with 5:01 left in the fourth period, but the Tigerettes managed to right the ship down the stretch and outscored the Lady Lions 11-7 the rest of the way to claim their second straight victory. more
Forrest standout Sara Jordan, a three-time state tournament participant and two-time All-District 9-A selection for the Lady Rockets, recently signed a Letter of Intent to continue her softball Career at Volunteer State Community College in Gallatin. "It feels great," said Jordan. "It just feels like everything has paid off, all the hard work of all my family and myself that we have put into it." more
After a convincing 65-50 win by the MTCS Lady Cougars over host Forrest in the opener of a Saturday night makeup twin bill, drama was at its highest when Cougar standout Derrick Spears nailed a fade-away beauty at the buzzer, lifting Middle Tennessee Christian School over the Rockets 42-40. Spears' game winner came just 14 seconds after Rocket junior Blake Leonard tied the game on a bruising three-point play in the paint. more

Haile Invitational Tournament at Middle Tennessee Christian School. LMS held a 20-13 lead early in the third quarter and appeared poised to advance to the next round, but the Lady Saints played divinely down the stretch and outscored the Tigerettes 24-5 the rest of the way to claim the 12-point victory. more
The Cornersville Bulldogs (4-13, 2-6 District) had a tough time of it on Friday night, as they lost 54-21 to the Richland Raiders on Homecoming. Having defeated CHS 55-33 in their previous encounter on Dec. 10, the Raiders (11-9, 5-3 District) built a 25-14 lead in first half of Friday's contest before outscoring the Bulldogs 29-7 over the final two quarters to complete the season sweep of Cornersville. more
After struggling in the second half the last three games, the Cornersville Lady Bulldogs' late game struggles finally bit them on Friday night when they dropped a 42-36 decision to District 11-A leader Richland on Homecoming. The Lady Bulldogs (10-7, 6-2 District) looked good early and built a 22-16 lead in the first half. Cornersville, however, was unable to carry that momentum into the second half, as the Lady Raiders (12-6, 8-0 District) outscored CHS 26-14 over the final two quarters to snap the Lady Bulldogs three-game winning streak. more
The Forrest Rockets snapped a two-game losing streak on Monday night by defeating Huntland 54-50 at home to record their third straight victory over the Hornets Forrest (8-14, 5-3 District) appeared to have the game well in hand after building a 44-30 lead midway through the third quarter, but Huntland (6-14, 1-8 District) came storming back and used a 20-6 run to knot the score at 50-50 with 2:06 left in the fourth period. more
Coming off a disappointing 65-50 loss to Middle Tennessee Christian two days earlier, the Forrest Lady Rockets (15-8, 5-3 District) unleashed their wrath on an overmatched Huntland squad, as they pounded the Lady Hornets 76-36 on Monday at home. Forrest came out firing on all cylinders and built a 46-22 lead in the first half before opening up a 74-30 advantage at the end of the third quarter en route to claiming their third straight victory over Huntland (8-13, 2-7 District). more
