The Forrest Rockets gave up an opening basket to Cornersville before taking the lead for good in a 53-42 Senior Night win over the Bulldogs in Chapel Hill on Monday.

"But we got a little lazy on defense in the second half, got beat off the dribble some, but I have to give Cornersville some credit, their boys played hard and gave a lot of effort and we had to match that."

The Fayetteville Tigers were on their game Tuesday night in Chapel Hill as they finished off the regular season sweep over Forrest via a 57-43 win.
"You can't match baskets with them and our defense just wasn't where we wanted it tonight," said Forrest head coach Wes Hobbs. "They drove the lanes well and we didn't contest the shots as well as we needed to. I want to see more guys ready to battle, we just have to have a fire from the start and if you don't match energy with a team like that, you will get blown out."
