Forrest's magical post-season run ended in Cross Plains Tuesday night as host East Robertson won 50-38 in the second of two Region 5-A semifinal contests, denying the Rockets a shot at a sub-state game for the first time since 1997.
"We made a run and fought the whole way through and that has been our team all year, fighting to the very end," said Forrest head coach Wes Hobbs. "I am proud of the guys and it has been a joy to coach them and to see this team develop and battle adversity all year long and come in at the end and make a run."

The Cornersville Lady Bulldogs (17-12) were knocked out of the Region 6-A tournament by Loretto for a fourth straight year when they lost 45-19 to the Lady Mustangs (19-11) at home on Friday night in the first round.
Coming off an inspired 47-33 victory over Richland four days earlier in the District 11-A title game, the Lady Bulldogs were unable to carry that momentum into Friday's contest, as Loretto forged a 26-9 lead in the first half before outscoring CHS 19-10 over the final two quarters to coast to their sixth straight win over Cornersville.

Forrest grappler Tyler McClendon became the first-ever Rocket wrestler to capture a state title when he finished his dominant senior season with flair, pinning Chattanooga Central's Trumond Martin in the second round of the TSSAA Class A/AA State Wrestling Tournament at the Williamson County Ag Expo Center in Franklin on Saturday.
"This feels great, I can't believe I won the state title in my first appearance," said McClendon. "I would like to thank the coaches and a couple of the guys at practice like Cage Hargrove, who worked with me all year and taught me new stuff and the coaches who taught me new stuff. I would also like to thank the TSSAA for having this and the kids out here wrestling, they did great."
