The Lewisburg Middle School Tigerettes (8-2) had their six-game winning streak snapped on Thursday afternoon when they dropped an 11-4 decision to county rival Forrest Middle School at home.
FMS (13-1) took control of the contest early and built an 8-1 lead through the first two and a half innings of play. Lewisburg rallied to narrow the gap to 8-4 in the bottom of the fifth, but the Lady Rockets stemmed the Tigerettes' momentum by tallying three runs over the final two frames to defeat LMS for the second time this season.

The Cornersville Middle School Lady Bulldogs (16-3) conquered another foe on Friday afternoon, as they extended their current winning streak to 13 games by defeating the Lewisburg Middle School Tigerettes 9-6 on the road.
Having defeated Cornersville 10-9 in their previous encounter on March 7, Lewisburg (9-3) held a 4-1lead through the first three innings of play in Friday's contest, but the Lady Bulldogs saw their bats warm up after that point and pushed across eight runs over the next three frames to seize a 9-5 advantage.

The FMS Rockets traveled to Eagleville on Friday for a make-up game and the Chapel Hill nine came away with a 10-0 five inning, run-rule win over the Eagles to improve to 5-1 on the season.
"We have gotten better since game one and that's baseball, it's a marathon to have the whole season to play for the tournament," said Forrest head coach Bart Joyce. "Every game we try to step up one notch from the previous game and we have three big conference games Monday and Tuesday, so we will have to show up and get better every day."

On Thursday night, the Marshall County Tigers came out on top in a battle of unbeaten teams when they went on the road and defeated the Cornersville Bulldogs 9-1.
The Tigers (4-0) pounced on Cornersville (6-1) early and built a 9-0 lead through the first four innings of play before cruising to their fourth straight win over the Bulldogs.
Aided by a seven-run second inning, Marshall County pounded out 11 hits and drew five walks against two Cornersville pitchers to go along with two Bulldog errors.

The Marshall County Tigers (2-1) suffered their first loss of the season on the pitch when they dropped a 4-1 decision to the Shelbyville Golden Eagles (2-1) on Tuesday night at home.
Having outscored their two previous opponents by a count of 16-1, the Tigers hung tough with Shelbyville early and battled the Golden Eagles to a 1-1 tie late in the first half.

On Tuesday, the Cornersville Bulldogs completed the season sweep of District 11-A foe Mt. Pleasant when they defeated the Tigers 8-1 on the road.
Cornersville (6-0, 4-0 District) held a 2-0 lead through the first three innings of play before plating six runs over the next three frames to open up an 8-0 advantage en route to claiming their fifth straight win over Mt. Pleasant.

The Forrest Rockets, coming off a 1-4 start to the season, rode a complete game performance on the mound by Logan Hollingsworth and a clutch squeeze bunt RBI by Jacob Daughrity in the fourth inning to edge Moore County 2-1 in Chapel Hill Tuesday night.
Hollingsworth was strong on the hill for the Rockets, giving up a lone run on just two hits, while walking two, striking out three and hitting one Raider hitter in seven innings of work.

The Lewisburg Middle School Tigerettes (7-1) completed the regular season sweep of Spring Hill by defeating the Lady Generals 8-3 at home on Thursday afternoon.
Spring Hill hung tough for much of the contest and were locked in a 3-3 tie with LMS through the first four and a half innings of play.
The Tigerettes, however, pulled away from the Lady Generals down the stretch and pushed across five runs over the next two innings en route to recording their fifth straight victory.

Lincoln County (3-1) held a 3-1 lead through the first two innings of play, but saw their bats go silent over the final five frames while the Tigers outscored the Falcons 6-0 the rest of the way to take home the victory.

Defending District 8-AAA tournament champ Shelbyville spoiled Heather Denton's debut as head coach of the Marshall County Tigerettes softball team, as the Golden Eaglettes (2-0) defeated MCHS 11-5 in Lewisburg.
The Tigerettes actually held a 4-3 lead through the first five innings of play, but Shelbyville erupted for seven runs in the top of the sixth to seize a 10-4 advantage before taking home their second win of the season.

The Marshall County Wrestling Club is reaping the rewards from their hard work and dedication and is a breeding ground for some great local wrestlers, including Forrest senior Tyler McClendon, who became the Rockets' first-ever TSSAA State Tournament wrestling champion when he capped off a dominating season with a win in the Class A/AA 195-pound weight Class.
"The club has focused heavily on being a resource for all wrestlers inside and outside of Marshall County, including high school level and college levels," said Chris Posey, founder of the MCWC. "The club realizes that there are many more objectives and goals to be reached and has achieved its current success through the efforts of many people inside and outside of the club."

On Monday, the Lewisburg Middle School Tigerettes (6-1) reeled off their fourth straight win when they defeated the E.A. Cox Lady Cougars 3-0 at home behind a strong pitching performance from starting hurler Brooklin Conger.
E.A. Cox (4-5) battled LMS to a 0-0 tie through the first five innings of play, but the Tigerettes scratched out three runs in the bottom of the sixth with the help of two defensive miscues by the Lady Cougars to take a 3-0 lead en route to claiming their sixth win of the season.

"Last night we pounded the ball and I was so pleased with our hitting and can't say enough positive things," said Forrest head coach Becky Cheatham. "Tonight, we struggled a little bit with the change of speeds and it took us a while to adjust, but we made the adjustments and are still pleased with overall effort."

The Forrest Lady Rockets brought out the big lumber Thursday night at the Field of Dreams in Chapel Hill, blasting Spring Hill 12-0 in five innings.
"I think that is probably the best we ever played as a team, hitting-wise, right down the line, we had no errors, just an outstanding effort by the team," said Forrest head coach Becky Cheatham. "Spring Hill is no slouch; we knew they had beaten Franklin the other night pretty big and we came in with the right mindset, so I am pleased with that. After the game we told them to hold onto that excellence and now strive for perfection."

On Friday night, the Lewisburg Middle School Tigerettes (2-0) defeated Cornersville Middle School for the fifth straight time when they pulled out a wild 10-9 road victory over the Lady Bulldogs (2-2) in nine innings.
Cornersville held a 6-5 lead through the first six innings of play, before the Tigerettes pulled ahead 8-6 in the top of the seventh thanks to a three-run homer from Sydne Solomon.

After posting a 3-0 record during pool play, the Forrest Middle School Lady Rockets captured the Richland tournament title by defeating the E.A. Cox Lady Cougars 8-1 in five innings on Saturday night in Pulaski.
"We came out excited and played very well," said FMS coach Daniella Hooper. "We had a couple of hard practices earlier in the week and it paid off today. We've been focusing on playing hard on every play."
