The Forrest Lady Rockets picked up their 10th win of the season Wednesday night in Eagleville, coming away with a hard fought 6-3 victory over the much improved Lady Eagles. Forrest (10-3, 6-2) had 10 hits in the contest, while Eagleville managed just four hits off winning pitcher Sara Jordan, who had to leave the game in the bottom of the fifth after being struck by a hot shot back to the circle. more
On Thursday night in Unionville, the Forrest Lady Rockets let Community stay in the game for four innings before bashing the Viqueens 15-1 in five innings. It was the 30th win in a row for Forrest (11-3, 7-2) over Community (11-9, 3-5) and it came via a sonic boom as Forrest socked four homeruns in the game, including fifth inning grand slams by Katie Warrick and Liz "The Eraser" Daughrity. more

Cornersville held a 2-0 lead through the first five innings of play before Fayetteville (11-1) scored a run in the top of the sixth to whittle the deficit to 2-1. The Tigers then put together another scoring threat in the seventh inning, but Bulldog reliever Carson Stacey escaped a bases loaded jam to help CMS claim their 10th win of the year. "This win says a lot about the team. They've never quit all year. We got a good pitching performance and played well overall," said Cornersville coach Mike Tatum. more
Having defeated Fayetteville 7-4 in the first game of a doubleheader, the Cornersville Bulldogs (10-5) completed the sweep of the twin bill by whipping the Tigers 6-0 in the second contest at home on Thursday night. Bulldog starting pitcher Jody Sullivan turned in a strong outing on the mound and limited Fayetteville to just three hits over six scoreless innings while issuing only one walk and racking up 12 strikeouts en route to earning his fourth win of the season. Tate Lowery then came on in relief of Sullivan and recorded one strikeout in one perfect inning of work. more
The Cornersville Bulldogs (9-5) snapped a four-game losing streak on Thursday afternoon by defeating the Fayetteville Tigers 7-4 at home in the first game of a doubleheader. Cornersville appeared headed for a relatively stress free victory and held a 7-0 lead through the first six innings of play, but had to stave off a Fayetteville rally attempt in the top of the seventh that saw the Tigers bring the tying run to the plate to hold on for the win. more
On Thursday night, the Marshall County Tigerettes handed archrival Giles County their first loss in District play when they traveled down to Pulaski and whipped the Lady Bobcats 9-1. Having lost the last two meetings against Giles County, which included a 3-1 defeat on March 20, the Tigerettes (4-9, 2-4 District) managed to rattle the Lady Bobcats early and built a 9-0 lead through the first five innings of play before cruising to the eight-run victory. more
After pounding Richland 10-1 two days earlier, the Marshall County Tigers (12-3) won an old fashioned pitchers' duel on Saturday afternoon when they defeated the Warren County Pioneers 1-0 at home. The two teams battled to a 0-0 tie through the first six innings of play, but Warren County (9-9) finally blinked in the bottom of the seventh, as the Tigers scored the winning run with the help of an error by Pioneer shortstop Logan Underhill after putting runners on first and second with one out thanks to two walks. more
The Forrest Rockets like the big lights at Hawkins Field on the campus of Vanderbilt University, especially ace hurler Logan Hollingsworth, who tossed a no-hitter Monday night versus Eagleville in a 12-1 five inning, run-rule win. "There was a lot of energy, we had a special guest at the school today in my friend Jason Maxwell, who kind of lit the fire and we kept it burning," said Forrest head coach Chris Parker. "They played very hard; I am proud of their effort and their energy." more
LMS gives departing coach Big South victory The LMS Tigerettes gave longtime coach Lee Perryman the perfect going away present when they swept their way to the Big South Conference Tournament title, going 3-0 in Chapel Hill on Friday and Saturday. Perryman, who won a Division title in 2008 before taking the conference crown in 2009, is retiring from coaching after eight years at the helm of LMS. more
n Monday, the Cornersville Middle School Lady Bulldogs (16-4) showed some signs of rust from a 10-day layoff, as they saw their 13-game winning streak come to an end with a 4-2 home loss at the hands of the South Giles Lady Eagles. Having defeated South Giles 3-1 in their previous encounter on March 11, the Lady Bulldogs appeared to be in good shape early on in Monday's contest and jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning. Cornersville, however, saw their offense sputter after that point while the Lady Eagles outscored them 4-0 over the final six frames to earn a split of the regular season series. more
The Forrest Middle School Rockets snatched victory from the jaws of defeat on Monday night when they went on the road and defeated the Cornersville Middle School Bulldogs 4-3 in eight innings. Aided by a dominant pitching performance from starting hurler Graham Duke, the Bulldogs held a 2-1 lead through the first six innings of play. more
The Cornersville Lady Bulldogs' showdown with defending Class A state champ Richland turned out to be a mismatch, as the Lady Raiders rolled to a 10-0 victory in five innings on Monday night at CHS. Despite losing All-State shortstop Merri Anne Patterson to graduation, Richland (8-1, 4-1 District) showed that they still have plenty of thump in their lineup and pounded out 13 hits against Cornersville starting pitcher Taylor Wolaver to go along with one walk and one Lady Bulldog error. more
After an exciting 2-1 extra-inning win in Cornersville on Monday, the FMS Rockets completed the regular season sweep over the Bulldogs with a 13-1 five-inning, run-rule win in Chapel Hill on Wednesday night. "Cornersville is a talented team and they are very well-coached," said FMS head Coach Bart Joyce. "I am very happy with the way we played the past two days and this time of the season is when you want to be hitting on all cylinders, going into the tournament in a week." more

The FMS Lady Rockets moved one win closer to the number one seed in the upcoming Big South Conference Tournament with a solid 8-1 win over Community Middle School, completing the season sweep over the Viqueens. "It was good, we were a little slow, starting offensively, but we have been off for a week too and once we got going they made some runs happen," said FMS head coach Daniella Hooper. "Even though we didn't hit the ball, we were scrappy a few innings and that was good, putting pressure on the defense." more
The LMS Tigerettes came to Chapel Hill with a purpose Wednesday night as they started strong and finished stronger in a 12-7 win that sent the Lady Rockets from a first place tie all the way to third place in the conference standings. The tiebreaker was total runs scored throughout the season and Cornersville came out on top, while LMS is in second place. more
The Marshall County Tigerettes got that winning feeling back on Tuesday afternoon, as they snapped a five-game losing streak by throttling the Christ Presbyterian Academy Lady Lions 11-0 at home in five innings to pick up their first District win of the year. more

Everything that could go wrong did go wrong for the Cornersville Bulldogs (8-4) when they butted heads with the Ross Rams (1-0) on Saturday afternoon, as the defending Southwest Ohio Conference champs pounded CHS 24-0 in four innings at Joe George Field in the Rocket/Tiger Classic. Ross took control of the game right from the start and built a 2-0 lead in the first inning before pushing across five runs in the top of the second to open up a 7-0 advantage. more
After suffering a blowout loss to Ross, Ohio earlier in the day, the Cornersville Bulldogs (8-5) made a much better showing against their second opponent from the Buckeye state, but were still unable to come away with a victory, as they dropped a 3-1 decision to the Wyoming Cowboys at Joe George Field on Saturday night in the Rocket/Tiger Classic. The two teams were locked in a 1-1 tie through the first three innings of play before the Cowboys tallied two runs over the next three frames to seize a 3-1 advantage. more
