After hammering Whitthorne 47-0 a week earlier, the Lewisburg Middle School Tigers devoured another opponent on Thursday night when they crushed West Wilson 46-8 at home to avenge a 30-20 loss to the Wildcats last year.
With West Wilson drowning in a sea of early mistakes, the Tigers washed away the Wildcats with a tidal wave of touchdowns and raced out to a 38-0 lead in the first half before cruising to their second straight blowout victory.
"I was very surprised with how easily we won," said LMS coach Elliot Cook. "I told the kids that this game was going to be a war. Last year West Wilson was the most physical team that we played. They were ready to go home pretty quickly tonight though".

Forrest knew the season-opening trip to Alabama was going to be a tough Week Zero test and it turned out to be true as Lauderdale County spotted the Rockets a one-touchdown lead before scoring 35 unanswered points to win 35-7.
"I did not have the guys prepared and ready to play this week, it is my fault and I will not let this happen again," said Forrest head coach Matt Kriesky. The Marshall County Tigers presented first-year head Coach Thomas Osteen with a spectacular opening night win Friday, outgunning Shelbyville 40-26 in front of a packed house at Preston Hopkins Field in Lewisburg.
"It feels real great with all the hard work we put in and hopefully it will solidify our kids that we are stepping in the right direction and doing things right with the program," said Osteen. "We talked about how they were going to face adversity at points in the game tonight and it was all about how we were going to handle that adversity and we handled it in a great fashion. We could have given up there in the fourth quarter, but we kept on plugging and found a way to win."
