A shorthanded, battered Rockets squad travelled to Huntland Friday night and gave it all they had before falling 37-27 to the Hornets.
"It was a tough loss for us, we had some key guys out but we can't use that as an excuse," said Forrest head coach Matt Kriesky. "The guys will be fine and I know they will come ready to work on Monday. We have been faced with some adversity the past two weeks, but I feel confident in our guys that they will respond well and finish this season out strong."

Posting an undefeated regular season is tough, you need some luck along the way and a lot of determination and the FMS Rockets showed their true grit Tuesday night in Murfreesboro as the winless Cougars gave Forrest all they could handle before the Rockets prevailed 22-20.
"That is a well-coached team and their guys fought hard and gave us a ballgame," said FMS head coach Bart Joyce. "On any given night, any team can beat anybody, but our boys fought strong too. We held up an extra point here at the one inch line when our whole defense stood the kid up and got the kid on the ground and that turned the whole game around."

The 2A Forrest Rockets and 4A Page Patriots battled to a 16-16 regulation tie at the newly dedicated Murrey E. Holton Memorial Field in Chapel Hill on Friday night, but the Rockets fell 23-22 in overtime after Forrest unsuccessfully attempted to win their Homecoming game by going for a two-point conversion after their extra period touchdown.
"I lost the game for the kids, I made some costly calls in the game, and put them in bad situations," said Forrest head coach Matt Kriesky. "They played their guts out and I am proud of each and every one of them. We had kids go down left and right, we had kids step up, and there is nothing we can ask, they did everything we asked them to do."
