Marshall County High School sophomore Leah Hollingsworth improved on all four categories in the past year and her hard work paid off with a huge leap up the leaderboard on Saturday at the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association's State Cross Country Championship, finishing 22nd in a field of 184 in Class A-AA. more
Jets grounded quickly after early flight Despite a stormy forecast, a standing-room-only crowd was on hand at Preston Hopkins Field Friday night to see Marshall County roll into the second round of the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association Class 4A playoffs with a 54-7 rout of Cumberland County. The fourth-ranked Tigers (10-1) gained 294 yards on the ground, led by Kamron Liggett with 185 all-purpose yards, to advance to the second round for the first time in five years. more

Dusty Nance didn't have many choices coming off a senior year in which he was voted Super All-Region, but when Carson Newman came calling he knew that was the place he wanted to call home the next four years. "I didn't have many schools looking at me," Nance said. "After I visited Carson Newman that didn't matter. I knew it was where I wanted to be." more
Fairview traveled to Lewisburg Tuesday night for a basketball doubleheader and after the Tigerettes knocked off the Lady Falcons 31-18, the Tigers lost 37-25 in the nightcap. The resurgence of the unbeaten Tigerettes (3-0) is a welcome sight in Lewisburg as the squad is full of talent. more

The two senior student athletes are one of four semifinalists for the award that will be presented to the top backs and linemen in eight classifications of the TSSAA on Monday, November 30, 2015, at Nissan Stadium in Nashville. more
The Lewisburg Middle School Tigerettes came up against a young and experienced Spring Hill team and that showed as the Tigerettes didn't allow their opponent to get much going on the way to a 37-7 blowout. The Tigerettes are now 2-0 in the young season with a game against a tough Fairview opponent on Tuesday night. more
The Forrest Middle School basketball season is just more than a third of the way through through schedule and both squads have impressive winning records with the girls standing at 6-2, while the boys are 5-3. The Lady Rockets have reeled off six straight wins after losing their first two games of the season. more

Cornersville ended the season with 44-24 victory over rival Richland Friday night at Frog Bottom, extinguishing the bad taste of losing and setting up a promising future for Coach Gerard Randolph's Bulldogs. "It was a tremendous team victory for our football program and a lot of emotions came into play with it being senior night and also our last football game of the year," Randolph said. "If it was going to end a certain way, this group of young men couldn't have picked a better way to come out and play some really good football." more
Tigers punish Page in classic showdown All eyes were on Lewisburg Friday night as media outlets from all over the Mid-State showed up for the battle of Region 4-4A, pitting longtime rivals Page and Marshall County in a championship match with the winner gaining a top seed and home field advantage through at least the first two games of the playoffs. Page (7-3, 4-1) managed to score first in each half, but the game was never in doubt for Marshall County (9-1, 5-0) as it cruised its first region title in 13 years with a 42-24 victory. more

Forrest Middle School, coming off a basketball sweep at Middle Tennessee Christian School on Thursday, brought out the home brooms on Monday, taking a pair from Moore County. The Lady Rockets made it three straight wins with their 31-22 win at MTCS combined with Monday's 54-26 coast-to-coast win over the Raiderettes. Jenna Blanton led the Lady Rockets in scoring with 14 points, including a perfect 8-for-8 effort from the foul line. more
The Bulldogs took to the field Friday night looking to celebrate homecoming with a win against highly regarded Fayetteville City High (7-2, 6-1) after getting handled 56-0 by Columbia Academy the previous week. Cornersville (2-7, 2-5) looked like a totally different ball team in the first half, trailing the second place team in Region 4-A by just two scores at halftime before succumbing to the quickness of the Tigers in a 43-0 loss in a game that was closer than the final score indicates. more
Page invades Lewisburg this Friday with Region 4-AAAA title on the line Marshall County overcame four turnovers with some clutch plays Friday night at Maplewood, outlasting the Panthers 34-33 in double overtime. "Our team faced a lot of adversity Friday night," Tigers coach Thomas Osteen said.
