The Forrest Rockets traveled to Cheatham County Thursday for a tri-meet versus the host Cubs and Montgomery Central and the Chapel Hill grapplers came away with a sweep, but it came at big cost.
Opening up the tri-meet on a good note, the Rockets blasted the Indians 64-18, accumulating 30 points by forfeit.
Joseph Redman (145 pounds) started off the meet with a pin over Bryton Spitzley before Clepper Watson (152) tied it up with a fall over Christian Tweed.

Belmont signee Nicholas Hopkins continued his superlative senior season Friday night on his home court at Fayetteville, pouring in 41 points to lead the Tigers to a 69-45 win over the Forrest Rockets.
Hopkins scored 30 points in an earlier December meeting at Forrest.

The Forrest Lady Rockets began the second time around the District 9-A slate with a trip to Fayetteville Friday night, looking to string together a winning streak before the start of the upcoming district tournament at Chapel Hill.
"It is always good to get a district win, especially on the road," Forrest coach Jeremy Jean said. "I thought that we came out flat on offense and was settling for jumpers when we could have gotten the ball in the paint or short corner for some easy shots."

The Cornersville Lady Bulldogs came into Friday's match-up against one-win Hampshire (1-16, 1-7), riding a red hot winning streak as they have captured six of its last eight games, including four in a row by a margin of 21 points per game.
Make that streak five wins in a row after a 54-27 pummeling of the Lady Hawks on Homecoming night at Cornersville.
"We weren't pleased with our energy once again tonight, we started slow," Cornersville coach Peyton Newton said.

The Cornersville Bulldogs have had several opportunities for a win this season, but have come up short on numerous occasions including a 10-point loss to Hampshire to start off district play early in December.
This time around the Bulldogs, led by a senior and a freshman, played smart from start to finish and picked up their first win of the season via with a 40-36 triumph over the Hawks on Homecoming night.

The Marshall County Tigers dominated the 2015-2016 All-Region 4A Team with 18 players selected to the squad.
Marshall County (12-2) went to the state semifinals for the first time in 30 years this season as the Region 4A champions, dominating both sides of the ball as the prolific offense put up 42 points per game, while the stingy defense allowed opponents just 11.6 points per game.

Two one win teams met Tuesday night is Lewisburg when Spring Hill came to town to battle Marshall County for a key district win.
The Tigerettes (1-13, 0-3) started off sluggish and despite a second quarter run to pull within one point the Raiders (2-13, 1-2) were too much to overcome and Marshall County remained winless in district 12-AA after a 50-37 setback.

The Tigerettes traveled to Wartrace on Friday with a bit of confidence culminating from two well played quarters against district powerhouse CPA and the winless record of its opponent for the night at Cascade.
The Tigerettes (1-12, 0-2) came out firing, trailing by just two points at halftime but due to some old habits succumbed to the Lady Champions (1-12, 1-1) 60-44.

The Cornersville Bulldogs traveled to Columbia Thursday night for a mid-season, non-district showdown between two programs heading in different directions in the 2015-16 season.
The Zion Eagles (7-5) are in the midst of a three-game winning streak that started with a 26-point win over the Bulldogs (0-10) two weeks earlier and continued with an 80-47 victory over Cornersville on Thursday night, leaving the Bulldogs still looking for that elusive first win of the year.

The Cornersville Lady Bulldogs looked to work out some kinks against non-district foe Zion Christian, a team it had trounced by 31 just three games prior, before hitting the meat of its district schedule to finish out the season.
If Cornersville, losers of two of its last three games, thought the Eagles would be intimidated by the lopsided score of the last meeting between the teams, they found out quick they would be in a dogfight until the end when the Lady Bulldogs needed a 20-10 fourth quarter to put away the upstart Lady Eagles 57-40.

The Forrest wrestling squad traveled to Harpeth Thursday night for a tri-meet with the host Indians and White House High School where the Rockets continued their stellar season with a road sweep.
Forrest opened with a 53-22 win over Harpeth, but it wasn't an easy start as Justen Uttley (132-pounds) opened the meet with a pin over Dylan Walls.

The Lewisburg Middle School Tigers and Tigerettes took to the floor at Lewisburg for the last time this season on Thursday and garnered a split of a twin bill with E.A. Cox as the girls won and the boys lost.
The Tigerettes turned in a solid performance in the first game, taking down the Lady Cougars 39-25 as three LMS players posted double digits in the scoring column with Karlye Wiser and Kelsey Keiler netted 11 points apiece and Hannah Davis knocked in 10.

The Marshall County Tigers came into Wartrace on Friday night with a lot to prove, sporting a misleading 6-9 record and coming into the game with back-to-back losses to 3A Ravenwood and 2A perennial power CPA by a combined 13 points.
The Tigers wanted the chance to knock off undefeated and third-ranked Cascade (12-1, 1-1) to let the rest of the district know MCHS is for real.

The opening game of District 12-AA play for the Tigers would be a chance for Marshall County (6-10, 0-1) to find out how much it had learned from a demanding out of conference schedule leading up to Tuesday nights showdown against Christ Presbyterian Academy (7-6, 1-0).
CPA, the defending two-time state champions, showed they still had a little bit left in the tank despite losing two of the top players in the country to prep schools by beating a tough Marshall County squad 54-46.
