The revolving door that has become the Rocket football coaching position is no longer spinning as Forrest graduate Brent Johns stepped up to the challenge of bringing some stability to the program.
"I want to come in and try to provide some stability to the program, we have had five head coaches in the last six years and that is just too much turnover," Johns said. "I'm not going anywhere, I have an 11-year old, a nine-year old and a four-year old that go to school here, so I am here until at least they are done."

After losing at Eagleville by 20 points on December 21, the Forrest Rockets looked like they would pull out a win over their longtime District 9A foe, but it was not meant to be as the Eagles came back to win 72-70 to capture their fourth win in a row over Chapel Hill.
"That was one of our best efforts, I would say in top three as far as effort goes," Forrest coach Randy Toombs said. "They played hard and some of them didn't fall in or fall in our hands."

I think for most people, it was just a matter of time before another football program would lure such a successful and well-liked coach as Matt Kriesky away from Chapel Hill.
On Tuesday morning it happened.
I think it is a good opportunity for me and my family and I told the kids they are the reason I am getting this opportunity and again I appreciate every single one of them," said Kriesky. "It was very tough telling them because I truly care about each one of them."

Losing by 30 points is usually accomplished by poor shooting, not taking care of the basketball, getting beat on the boards and not digging in on the defensive side of the ball.
The result for the Forrest Rockets at Middle Tennessee Christian School Tuesday night was Cougars 70, Chapel Hill 40.

The Lady Bulldogs welcomed district foe Santa Fe (6-11, 5-4) to Cornersville on Tuesday night, looking to exact a little revenge on the Wildcats after the visitors beat the Bulldogs by 10 points during the second district game of the season early in December.
If living well is the best revenge then consider the Wildcats served as the Bulldogs' Madison Hopkins hit a bank shot at the buzzer to secure a 56-54 win.
