Despite not playing each other in the regular season in over 15 years, the competition between Marshall County High and Cornersville High is as intense as any schools that play each other year in and year out.
Located just under 10 miles apart down highway 31-A, the Tigers play in the third largest classification in the TSSAA (4A) while the Bulldogs compete in the smallest classification (1A) but the two schools got together on Saturday night for one main purpose----to raise money for each respective school through competition in front of a standing room only crowd at Cornersville.

There used to be a time when winning the Marshall County Golf Open was one of the most coveted amateur titles in the area.
Looking through the Tribune archives and seeing all the great names and faces that played in the event was like a kaleidoscope of golf history in Marshall County and that lineage could be restarted with the recent announcement by Saddle Creek Golf Club General Manager and PGA Professional Greg Wilson regarding the inaugural Greater Lewisburg City Championship on August 20 and 21.
