A combination of technology and old-fashioned police work brought a quick end to a home burglary that occurred on Anderson Lane during the day on Friday. The homeowner’s security system alerted him via his phone that the alarm had been activated. The homeowner was able to remotely view the security camera feed on his phone and saw two individuals inside the home, wearing masks to hide their identities, as well as the vehicle they were driving...

Cori Carter Cole, formerly of Lewisburg, was recently featured in the Tennessee Teacher Chronicles. Normally a formality, the proposed change to the graduation date for Forrest High School generated some tension. Seniors were challenged to complete college applications and get their Free Applications for Federal Student Aid submitted. The Marshall County Tigerettes are off to a solid start on the new season as they won their third game in a row via a 53-18 drubbing over Columbia Central Monday night at the Dottie Kelso Memorial Gymnasium in Lewisburg.
Karlye Wiser led all scorers in the contest with 18 points, all coming from behind the 3-point arc.
“We came out real hot to start with,” Marshall County coach David Steely said. “Karlye got us going with some quick 3’s and we jumped on them pretty quick and from that point on, winning was never in doubt.”
